They announced this at wwdc that there will be 3rd party independent inspections of apple cloud compute servers / software to verify their claims to be 100% private without storing any user data.

Interesting, thx
Has that ever been talked about again or results posted anywhere?

or was it just used to assuage concerns and we just move on?

Plot twist: Apple was so caught off guard by AI that their strategy is to release Apple Intelligence knowing it’s basically useless and it will sour millions of users views on AI, thus making it a mute point. People will go “meh, I don’t really care about any of this”.

To me the problem is the inconsistency experience between homepod and other devices, specially with playing music. Sometimes I will say "play XXX by Artist name" and it never plays the song I want to. I remember it used to work in the past but now it fails everytime on my iPhone. Also if my language is set to English and the artist has an english name, it should not have trouble saying the artist name even if I have a Japanese account; HomePod says "playing song name by (silence)". Apparently it can't pronounce the artist name.

Ya I feel like this is how all software is going to be now. Promise X but really only Y comes out now which is half baked

Waiting to try out the improved Siri but not sure how much it will improve. Looks like it will come just before WWDC. A long wait before it is actually available to use.

I did a follow along and either got a "I found this on the web." with generic Google results, or flat out failed. "What's going on this weekend?" returned today's news. Picking a different city gave me a Wikipedia link to that city. Movie results weren't formatted as nicely as they were so many years ago in that video, and I had to dig around a bit to find the IMAX theater that's 1 mile away from me. I'm guessing "AMC" is sponsoring search results somehow?

Finally, Siri said she didn't understand me when I said I was drunk, but she did open the map and give me driving directions. 😄
Suddenly, Siri doesn’t know where I live when I ask the temperature. Sometimes it wants to give me the definition of temperature and sometimes it asks me if I want to go to ChatGPT in order to get it. This of course means that they may as well go ahead and release The Siri update with 18.4 even though it is not ready. We would not be able to tell the difference.

Said it back in September… it was going to take until after ios 19 release. Apple needs to stop with this ****.

I’m so sick and tired of feature announcements at a WWDC in June for software on new hardware in September just to show its features that inevitably never release with the device, or takes until 3/4 of the software cycle to be released.
I agree. But I think it is a bit deeper then that. First they were very late to AI game. They had to announce something, anything, just to be listed in the same list of companies that are mentioned when talking about AI. If they didn't they would be out, and shareholders would not like it at all. Well at least those who buy and sell regularly, not the long term ones.

You can argue who cares, let them be upset and fire Cook. But I don't think it would be the best bet. Who knows what next could come up and how everything would end up. When corps are controlled by funds it never ends well. I think it is fine for them to tray and buy some time. Just the method they used is a bit pathetic..

Absolutely. He is very personable, but not, as all these years have shown, very good at getting the job done.
But the hair! 😍 🙄

I'm starting to look at the developers conference as, an advance look at what Apple is working on for the next 2 years. Because it takes them that long to release any of it in a stable release.

Appreciate the drive-by. I was asked to prove on-device was a thing on Samsung and I did grabbing a screenshot. I did not make nor did I imply any assertions other than that.
No problem! I was pointing out the on-device functions on the Samsung aren’t equivalent Apple standards useless.
