Waiting to hear more about it. With many changes, it is possible that some of the older devices will not be getting the update. Excited to see the changes.

Every rumor I've seen says that iOS 19 won't drop any models.

As for my thoughts on this..Whatever.. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Remember how everyone thought the "+" button in iOS 17 Messages looked nothing like the rest of the OS?
More of the effects and layouts we have already seen in a more consistent look is the intended result. I'm on board with that in concept at least.

As someone else previously said,

"We don't need fresh and modern, we need intuitive and robust."
Who was that genius? :)

Some inserts of fresh and modern are undoubtedly good. BUT not when an interface detail is obliterated into something unrecognizably new and works less robust and less intuitive than before...in those cases the design team should be asking why weren't things refined and improved over time instead of reinvented overnight?

I hope apple learned from the less successful of the shock and awe aspects of iOS7 for which they've walked back around 85% worth in the last 10 years.

As troubled as iOS 7 was I do think the transition was welcomed by most people overall. Every now and then an overhaul is required or things start to feel a bit stale.

That said - I'd be surprised if the overhaul changes core functionality much. iOS is so ingrained into people's muscle memory it's hard to change it without causing a lot of problems for people who don't pay attention tech world closely.

iOS 19 is going to be the Malibu Barbie of operating systems (Now with a stylish new hat)
