I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I kind of want Apple to take a year off between major new releases (but still release bug/security fixes in the meantime of course), and rewrite as much of the codebase in Swift, SwiftUI and Metal. Start with the frameworks/libraries, like what they did with Core Data > Swift Data, and do the rest of the OS and then apps. Try to consolidate all the code between the various OSes so as to not have to reinvent the wheel. Hoping all this would help streamline the process of making new features and cutting down on bugs.

Hopefully it won't be riddled with bugs and we won't have to wait until iOS 20 to enjoy iOS 19.

I’m a broken record here. Just fix that bugs. Please. Don’t bring new bugs.

great, so more bugs

Great. A million new UI bugs that no one seems to have noticed before shipping. That will be fun

May want to check the story today about iOS 18.3.2 that is just supposed to be bug fixes and security updates. I know the facts can get in the way of a really fun narrative, but all those comments just come across as completely tone deaf to anyone who is actually paying attention.

We'll get our first look at the new design in iOS 19, iPadOS 19, and macOS 16 at the 2025 Worldwide Developers Conference, which will take place sometime in June. After that, the updates will be tested for several months before seeing a public launch in the fall.
Am I the only one who gets really annoyed when so called journalists assert rumours as truth? In as much as you're probably right, and history is on your side you still don't know. Unless you have a source, even an unnamed source who you deem credible who also throws around the word "will" like it's a fait accompli then please adjust your phrasing. There's a whole lot of misinformation out there in the media, please don't be part of it. You can do better.

Um....I am scared guys...the last time Apple did a redesign, it didn't go so well.....

And as an IT Admin, I don't know how this will affect managing enterprise Macs....

They already made macOS so annoying with these annoying prompts just for basic screen recording access:

What other annoying changes will macOS 16 bring? Ugh...
These are not the kind of UI changes they are talking about.

100% agree. Headlines here, stories, comments, etc... anyone who claims to know what will happen in the future is a joke. If they knew, they'd win the lottery every week.

I’m close to trying an android again after last using one 15 years ago. Siri has gotten worse this past year, so many ui collisions on iOS, mess of a photos app, maps not updating new construction roads for 2 years now and routing fails, watch still needs to update settings and fails, Apple Pay just didn’t work yesterday, so many bugs. They need to fix bugs and user experience. They should split hardware/phone launch from new os launches, release ios when it’s ready with all features not a beta version. We are still in beta of iOS 18.

Great! We’re due for a design refresh. Something along the lines of VisionOS would be terrific.

I'm not sure if this is a good idea. Apple should just do what some call a "Snow Leopard" update with no significant changes but do a lot of bug fixes with iOS 19.0, along with the new AI-based Siri experience. Wait until iOS 20.x versions to overhaul the UI in the biggest change since iOS 7.x after the underlying code is cleaned up first.

All I see are negative comments, lets look to the positives Apple did not release something that might have caused more problems their trying to make sure everyone has a positive experience. if you are unhappy with what Apple is doing then don't buy their products and stay off the ecosystem, for those of us who are willing to be patient can reap the rewards.
