One brand new bug in 26.1 on my iPad Pro. After restarting the device, when I tapped on a bookmarks folder expecting to see the bookmarks contained within, one of two things occur in Safari. A message appears; “do you want to open 88 tabs” or not message but all 88 tabs load. Force quitting Safari restores the normal function. I’ve never used tab groups and have no settings enabled that would cause this. This has happened twice immediately after a restart. Never seen before 26.1.

Please tell me that they fixed having to tap the send button in a text message? I am constantly having to tap it 2 or 3 times before it sends.

It did it on my 16p and doing it on my 17p now too.

Maps completely froze on me today and caused a respring. I couldn’t go to the Home Screen or even lock the phone. Also maps gets stuck in dark mode even when you are using light mode.

Anyone who's running beta 1, can you test something for me, please? Here's my original post, which gives you the setup and info.. Basically, just need someone who is 1) running the beta, and 2) has a mDL on their watch (also on the beta) to see if you can access the "Card Details" of the mDL on the watch and see your personal information, or if it's still locked behind the dreaded "Unlock iPhone with Face ID" message.

I recently upgraded to the iPhone 17 Pro Max and encountered an issue with the California Mobile Driver's License (mDL) on my Apple Watch.

I've had my CA mDL on both my iPhone and Apple Watch without issues since California first supported it. However, after upgrading to the new phone, I had to re-add the mDL to my iPhone. Because the Apple Watch syncs the mDL from the paired iPhone, I had to delete and re-add the license on my watch as well.

The problem I'm facing now is:
  • The mDL functions perfectly on my iPhone.
  • On my Apple Watch, the mDL constantly prompts me to unlock my iPhone using Face ID to validate my identity. Despite repeatedly unlocking the iPhone, rebooting both devices, and even completely unpairing and restoring the watch, the watch still does not recognize the license as unlocked.
You’re lucky.
The asinine moronic state of Georgia has to send me a postcard with a code to re-add it.
So ask again in two weeks.

Not sure if it is 2.0 or 2.x. It's whatever 18.0 launched with. UP 3 was spotted in code awhile ago. But Google hasn't implemented it either yet. So once it's in the beta, you would need two iPhones with RCS on but iMessage off to do any real testing, I gather.
In a cross-platform chat with Android users they have noticed that they get edit but not delete which they did not have before iOS 26. However on iOS 26.0 I don’t have that feature.

Major improvement to the “Now Playing” on Split View in CarPlay. The progress bar for audio is now smaller, and album art takes up a larger portion of the left side. There’s less padding, meaning text fits better. And… it finally uses multiple lines!

Small for some, but addresses one of my biggest annoyances with Split View. Now you can see the album art better AND more of the song name. :)

My alarm clock is having problems. I don’t understand why, but it didn’t go off at all with the alarms I had set. I tested it, and it works if I set it shortly before, but it’s like it doesn’t ring if I schedule it for a few hours later. Am I the only one?

Don't know if this has been mentioned. They removed the border lines around the folders and widgets on the homescreen. The widgets have a little at the top. Here's a before and after. Everything was set the same. Same wallpaper. Same home screen customization.

This is with the reduced transparency setting right?

Silly question because it’s a beta: any battery life/temperature improvements?

On my end, yes. But I have very good cell coverage and had already completed all the ios setup stuff when 26 release. Normally I would go from 80% to 70% by noon, and 30% by 9 PM. So far It's almost four and I just hit 60%. Not the most scientific measure but so far so good.

During lound speaker phone calls my iPhone is vibrating like every 5 seconds since I upgraded to iOS26. Anyone else ? Any ideas ?

I am probably celebrating too prematurely but I installed this beta the day it came out, and today I had the best performance I’ve gotten on my 15 Pro in months. It’s incredible. I’m typing this in direct sunlight and it isn’t even dimming the screen. Heat seems lower, performance better.

I don’t even remember 18.4 being this good. I was beginning to think the bad performance was just from 80% battery health and I was stuck with it.

There was an issue on 26.0 where if you have clear icons set, then go into “jiggle mode” and accidentally tap “edit pages” and immediately hit “done”, the phone would freeze for a good 30 seconds. That seems to have been fixed in 26.1 beta.

All the visual glitches I reported in iOS 26.0 are still there. Still testing to see if always on display makes my icons show up late sometimes. Will report back.
