I updated my iPhone 17 Pro, and now the volume for notification of incoming text messages is stuck at max volume, and the only way to get the volume to a bearable level is to turn the ringtone volume nearly all the way down, which also decreases the text tone volume.

I’ve tried soft resetting my iPhone, and I’ve tried the usual way to decreasing the text notification volume (Settings-> Sounds & Haptics-> Text Tone, click the volume up and down buttons on the iPhone to increase or decrease the volume level while the text tone is playing). Clicking the volume up or down buttons has no effect while the text tone is playing.

I’ve tried enabling and disabling the “Change with Buttons” setting.

Bluetooth is disabled, so a connected Bluetooth device isn’t causing the issue, as happened to me with a different iPhone a few years ago.

So annoying with safari this blank space on web pages. It’s also on Firefox. Makes web browsing many pages nearly impossible. If you scroll all the way to the top or bottom of a web page, the blank spots go away. See pics. Started in 26.0.2.

One day later and I can attest to the significant improvement in the battery life over 26.0.1. However, the stutters are really annoying.

I hope for a 26.1.1 really soon with the fixes for the stutters. That would be perfect.

Doubt we see 26.1.1. iOS 26.2 is now in beta (B1 dropped yesterday).

Been getting lots of respringing since installing 26.1. Usually happens when opening an app. It also has a super delayed "beep beep beep" sound when hanging up from a phone call - plays like a minute after one of us has hung up. Seems kind of buggier than the last release tbh.

Is the heating issue still there on iPhone 16/17 Pro Max when updated to iOS 26.1? because even doing the Facebook Reels, Instagram and TikTok here in US, Washington D.C which is a very very light app heats my iPhone 17 Pro Max on iOS 26.0.1 i am hoping the 26.1 improves the heating issues.

Never felt my 17 Pro Max get even slightly warm on any version.

I had an issue in iOS 26.0.1 and also previous iterations of iOS for the last four or five years, where my phone was interrupting my Bluetooth hearing aids when it shouldn’t have done. It may be early days, but since upgrading to iOS 26.1 yesterday this might finally have been fixed. This is a massive safety improvement if so.

So far so good on my 17 pro. My 14 pro had the heating issues on 26.0.1 and carried over to my new 17 pro where it would randomly heat up also doing light tasks but yeah it’s nice and cold after the update for me yesterday. I did perform one restart also. Seems like whatever background task they had randomly running is fixed with the new update. Battery life has been just as good if not better too.

I don’t know if it’s because I deleted the entire, default Home controls page in Control Centre and made one from nothing, but my new manually configured Home page didn’t revert to unconfigured buttons with this update/restart.
Spoke too soon.

After another restart (due to broken Spotlight conversions, dictionary lookup etc) my Home controls went back to unconfigured in Control Centre:

I’ve got an issue new to this RC. Spotlight search only results in installed apps, none of the other functionality like dictionary search, metric/imperial conversions etc works. Restarting fixed it for an unknown amount of time before breaking again.

Another issue in prior 26.1 betas not fixed in RC is I have a Control Centre page dedicated to Home controls (lights, scenes) but after each OS update the buttons return to an unconfigured state. If I long-press and tap to configure them, they’re already set to what they should be but backing out again they’re still unconfigured. They only way to fix is to either delete and set up from scratch or change each button to another accessory/scene and then back to what I want.

The small number of Home controls on my favourites (heart) Control Centre page are unaffected by this.

There’s another layout issue with Control Centre I experienced when moving or enlarging the Now Playing control on a reset CC, other controls disappearing, aligning off-grid, only the resize corner-grab showing for some controls and even something cropped off the far-left of the iPad when Control Centre is normally limited to the right third of the display.

Some of this may date back to OS 18’s CC overhaul. There’s still no quick and intuitive way to reorder CC pages.

This definitely looks like a misbehaving content blocker. Try to disable them all and maybe also clear the Safari cache.

There’s still some slight stutter when scrolling when adding a control to control center but it’s much better than it was before on 26.0.1 and my short time on iOS 18. They are definitely optimizing things little by little and goofing up some other things.

Ever play that Kinect adventures on Xbox 360 where you have to cover the holes and then the fish or shark or whatever comes up pokes another hole through the glass and you have to try to cover that hole? I feel like this is what software development must be like. Fix one thing and then something else gets weird. And this goes on and on and on until most of the holes are covered to the best they can… usually around April or May of the following year!
