Given this bug has been popping up since the 26 betas, getting fixed for a release, then broken again… I get the impression Apple don’t care.
It’s so incredibly frustrating though.
Yeah I personally didn’t have an issue until 26.1 — hoped 26.2 would fix it, but I’m an idiot for thinking Apple’s quality control was something that it’s so clearly not anymore.

This bug is back.

Just done my usual hard reset the morning after a software update on my 17 Pro.

Coming from 26.1 this new version feels very slick indeed with better animations and less little glitches here and there. Will see how it performs through the day and see how battery life goes in the coming days once it all settles down.

Yes, it’s a huge improvement over 26.1 in general usage. Seems to be a few edge case bugs still hanging around judging by this forum, but the overall quality now is very good.

Do iPhone 17 Pro models still make coil whine noises when charging with this update?
I was indeed hoping for a fix for this aswell as my 17 Pro Max started with this on 26.1

The people suggesting to take the phone back and that this isn't a known issue, go take a look on Reddit and the Apple Support forums, it seems to be more of a Pro Max issue that's affecting various models and manufacturing dates.

Some started after 26.1 and others from new, Apples latest response to people pushing this matter is it's within tolerance.

Not sure if this has been mentioned before but special lock screen wallpapers feel…better?

I swear they have done something here as I have loads of them and they all genuinely feel like they have better depth and smoothness. Unless I’ve gone mad of course.

Both my iPhone and iPad had a frozen screen the first time after unlocking. Locking and unlocking them again resolved it, hopefully I didn’t update too quick, but both devices were suffering from other issues.

When in Watch app and I open Wallet & Apple pay, after FaceID confirmation in Dynamic island all status bar icons disappear. It's fixed by force closing the app.

I tried my iPhone 16 Pro Max in my car and it's still causing my head unit to reboot. I tried my iPhone in my wife's car and am still having an issue there, too. I've tested an iPhone 16e in my car on the 26.2 RC that worked prior on 26.1, and that's causing my head unit to reboot. Updated to the official 26.2 release and it's still causing an issue. I tried my wife's iPhone 14 Pro in my car before updating to iOS 26.2, so she's still on 26.1, making sure her iPhone isn't listed in my stereo's settings, and it still works just fine! So, yes, I know different cable- but I did even buy a new cable...

We then updated my wife's iPhone from 26.1 to 26.2 and now her iPhone is causing my head unit to reboot. It also doesn't work in her CrossTrek, although there it's just occasionally making that buzzing feeling as if it's connected to something that can charge it.. But it never ends up charging it.

There have been no updates for my car's stereo. My wife and I both have 7 year old cars bought new and this has worked the entire time we've owned these car over the entire 7 years. So Apple has effectively made a main feature of our cars now obsolete, and just a couple weeks before Christmas. Thanks! If this is some part of a master plan to get us to buy new cars, think again!

Now to worry about whether it's worth it to go and buy a wireless dongle to try and connect that way. I feel like I've exhausted all other options at this point, including resetting my stereo.

What else would iOS 26.2 install on?

It installed just fine on my iPhone.
He's referring to the Apple Devices app for Windows where you can install iOS and iPadOS updates...

Has anybody successfully installed this with Apple Devices?
Sorry, I meant to but I've been dealing with a bunch of my own issues! I will try and remember and maybe try the next 26.3 beta whenever that is. Maybe.. Not sure I want to be on a beta update over the holidays, though.

It’s crazy that the app draw bug is still there! This level of neglect deserves to be called out publicly.

I'm seeing no improvements to any of my reported issues across iOS and macOS. Each beta and RC and subsequently official release, have all degraded in performance overall as time has passed. I can honestly say these latest releases, to me anyway, are worse than the iOS 7 betas and iOS 11 betas. There's been some real clunkers out there, but taking away CarPlay for 3 different model iPhones in 2 different model cars right before Christmas is a huge bummer in this house.

I jumped off the beta train when the release came out. My 17p updated (over 10GB) from rc2 to the release.

What I find odd is that with 26.2, unlike 26.1, my U2 watch doesn’t recognize a release update.

This leads me to think either:

A. Something changed between RC2 and the release for iOS but not for WatchOS or

B. They give you a full off-ramp for iOS but not for WatchOS.
🤷🏻‍♂️
