I’m really excited for the official 26 to get here. I can’t wait to see what this does to my iPad Air m2 and my iPhone 16e. I’m not sure if my WATCH se 2nd gen will get this though.
Is it just me? Am I the only one that thinks those super-tall clock digits are ugly and hard to read?
For iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max users, best to stay on iOS 18.x or older
Sorry to hear about the Covid, hope you feel better.Anyone know what time they are being released? It is nearly 8am now and I am stuck at home with COVID, so something new to play with would be great... But I suspect they won't be released until late evening CET?
A stable RC has not really anything to do with possible launch issues with the new models that are coming on FridayUnlikely. It’s already very stable.
I took your advice and let it update overnight last night.Do the update. Data transfer will be less stressful, not 100% sure be the same iOS version could be mandatory as well.
This is classic Apple.Limiting the adaptive power mode to 15 series and newer is total 🐂💩.
Good example (that I have laboured a little the last week or so) is the latest Gen photo editing tools on an iPhone 16. I have a 15PM, but my wife has a regular 16. Photo editing on hers has 'Styles', which I find really easy to use when I want to edit quickly on her phone and gives me some great, quick results. Obv. that option isn't available on the 15PM. However, if I AirDrop the image to my phone from hers, go to edit the image, the software option is available for that photo. If I have a bunch of her photos to send to mine, editing using that feature makes zero (noticeable) difference in performance or battery on my device. Frustrating, as my phone can clearly handle it.This is classic Apple.
And no one will ever be able to prove it, but bulking up the software (especially UI elements and animations) can really start to impact battery life on older hardware. This encourages upgrades.
I wish they would provide a classic mode which would essentially provide the interface as per iOS 18 and allow older hardware to run the new OS but with the old UI, but they will never do this because it affects their bottom line.
The thing with Apple is that although the hardware is unquestionably top tier on all models, support is fantastic, but they will always encourage upgrades and upsell to maintain revenue. At the end of the day they exist to make money, who can blame them.
This has been a bug for as long as I can remember. Apple ignores it. There’s a long silent track you can add to your library called the silent CD. Then rename the song with an A from another language so it will always be before everything else. Technically, your car is playing audio, but you don’t hear it. It is so stupid. But it has worked for me for years.Fingers crossed it finally stops playing the first song alphabetically from my iTunes purchase history every SINGLE time I connect my phone to my car for the last 4 years. THE SAME SONG, even if I’m currently listening to anything else in any other app. Tried deleting the Apple Music app entirely as I use Spotify but that broke connecting to my car at all.
You probably do, even if you don't realize it. Dumb tangent, but just curious. Where are you from?I also don’t own stock in them.
Is that a problem? In general, it's not unusual for backups to be associated with a given OS version.I feel like i have a problem every year where my phone is running the newer software when the new phones arrive... and it won't let me transfer to the new phone. It forces me to set up as new phone (and then update software before it will even allow me to restore from back up, since the backup is newer).
That's a funny workaround. I remember this issue happening to me YEARS ago, but it hasn't done it for a very long time. Now, if the car has bluetooth selected as the audio source, it will just autoplay whatever the last media the phone was playing; be it a podcast or music. This has been a bug for as long as I can remember. On first party apps it's largely fine, especially on iPhone which is really what the UI was meant for (to have content underneath the glass). Third party apps are finally rolling out updates with Liquid Glass implemented. I was pleasantly surprised to see the Lowe's app is using it. Your experience may vary with how well the developer chose to use it. A lot of third party developers will probably not even implement it.Anybody like liquid glass?
Nope… my 13 mini limits charging to 80% too with iOS18.
