Anyone else run into the issue after updating to Macos26 where your devices show up but you aren’t able to interract with them to backup the iPad or phone. iTunes just says syncing iCloud music library. Am I missing something?

The new windowing system in iPadOS disables the “four finger swipe to go to the previous app”. I guess it makes sense, but I hadn’t noticed how much I use that gesture until now. Maybe once every two minutes 😅

Have you tried switching to one of the other multitasking options in Settings to see if it works in one of them?

I never used four-finger swipe so much as one-finger swipe on the Home button, which doesn’t work in one or two of the other options. (I only have an iPad mini so I’m still adjusting to all of this multitasking availability. I do miss Slide Over already…)

Edit: I should’ve read the release notes sooner, apparently the lack of swipe is a bug:

Switching apps by swiping left or right with one finger along the bottom edge, or with four/five fingers anywhere on screen, does not work in the new Windowed App Multitasking mode.

I searched but didn't find any mention of this one..... after installing iOS 26 DB1 on my iPhone 16 Pro, I discovered that software update checking is broken. The options at the top of the software update page to select dev beta, public beta, and for that matter ANY version are gone. And when it tries to check for updates, I get "UNABLE TO CHECK FOR UPDATE an error occurred while checking for a software update" and there is a link for "try again" which always fails.

Anyone else? Hopefully this is a server issue?

I believe we had the same issue last year during the beta process and whenever beta 2 was released it popped up without issues.

For those looking for the tabs button in Safari, you can simply swipe up form the address bar and get to the tabs view like in 18.5. I like it.

They gotta make sure to hit both sides for the clicks. Verge has gone downhill since they started charging to subscribe to most of their “articles” which are nothing more than garbage.

I'd never advocate piracy however 12ft.io works on their website. If you're ever uh, interested in that for some reason.
