I think I've spotted a new bug. When you hold down on certain buttons (e.g. "Get Started") when it loads, and then you swipe up a bit, the text of the button flashes over the screen - usually to the bottom.

I guess the public beta will come the next days? Every year I forget it.
There really is no point in waiting for the PB nowadays with developer betas being free (after signing up for a free developer membership). We‘re pretty late in the beta cycle, risk of absurd bugs is nearing zero (otherwise they wouldn‘t push out PBs).

Reminder: developer and public betas are identical (same build / binaries), you‘re just stalling yourself on a 2 week old build.

I can see them just fine.
Try typing in them, especially against a white background with text. It's an illegible mess. The most egregious example is in the Safari address bar when trying to search for something. The search suggestions that appear underneath the glassified address bar overlap with the text you're typing. Very annoying.

Quite happy with the performance on this beta! Little hiccups here and there but much speedier than beta 4, and each weekly will likely enhance stability and speed from here (my guess is design is locked now; they probably have internal builds that are speedier and smoother that are near ready to load onto new iPhones and we’ll see iterative builds these next few weeks that show that speed improvement.

What’s nice is seeing their designers having fun with all the elements while keeping interactions similar to previous OS. The idea of retraining my elderly parents for something completely distinct gives me heartburn just thinking about it.

I suppose all you can see is "Search" and you cannot see the "Apple Intelligence & Siri" in the background at all.
I can see where “Apple Intelligence & Siri” are underneath the field, but it’s blurred enough to not compete with “Search” or what is typed.

Since one wouldn’t move the AI & Siri menu item (or any other menu item) directly under the search bar—where in other OSes those items would be hidden by a solid bar in the same position anyway—to tap on it, what’s the issue?

HomeScreen ProMotion stuttering is nearly fixed in Beta 5. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
NEARLY.
For me, initially I thought it was fixed but now I am still seeing the micro-stutters. So it’s not fixed yet. The fastest high end phone should not have it at any cost.

Here for those betas who come after!!

There’s a new bug in the “find my” widget. It now displays only one specific person, regardless of which person you set to be shown.
Not sure if this will work, but try removing and re-adding the widget. My selected contacts weren't showing in the Contacts widget, and this fixed it for me.

Question. Trying to figure if this is just me.

When in Dark Mode, swipe down to trigger Spotlight search. Type in the field (e.g. Safari). Click on the field, as if to "edit" the text and move the cursor. Does it "glow" so bright you can't see anything? It does for me, but can't seem to screenshot it properly.

Contacts was a bit wobbly after the initial reboot. There was an issue with Tahoe not syncing contacts to iCloud which is fixed in the latest beta. Consolidating the changes caused some issues and I ended up turning off iCloud contacts on my phone (selecting to delete all from phone) then turning it back on again.

It took a few minutes but they came back. Then I had to edit my widgets and although the details looked correct, the actual widget wasn't working, so selected another contact and then back to the one I wanted. That fixed it. Did that for each contacts widget.

It’s amazing how some people try to justify things, not going to lie.

Haha, “justify”.

If that was illegible, I wouldn’t be able to read that the address is cnn.com.

It’s amazing how some people go completely over-the-top hyperbolic if not outright ignore what words mean, not going to lie.

You don’t like it, cool. Still readable.
