iOS 26 Beta 6 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

That’s probably related to the new HDR screenshot feature.Has anyone noticed screenshots of the home screen look much darker than they are? It's odd. Here's the difference. The one on the left is correct. The wallpaper should look light and bright. But when I screenshot it, it turns dark like on the right.
I wonder if the grayscale levels on that album cover happen to be just around the threshold where it switches between white and black.It’s a bug. Tapping around on the screen fixed it, but then the top bar went dark. Lol
Sure they will do this I think - but why waiting for pb3 if you just can hop on beta 6 already right now ! 🤣
I have "Dark" set on Customize at the bottom. But that shouldn't make it do that way.
Would I be able to have both a iOS 18.6 and iOS 26 backup in iCloud or would the iOS 26 override the 18.6?
Only one iCloud backup per device. So if you update to 26 and your device is backing up to iCloud, the backup will be the one of iOS 26 and the existing one of iOS 18 will be overwritten.
You saved my life, I had it turned on before the update and I couldn’t believe my eyes reading all those good comments for the performance. I just turned it off and my 16PM now is a rocket!! very fast! Thank you
Only major issue I’m noticing is the screenshot issue where the image is darker and the notifications har a clear box and then dark with Reduced Transparency on. Have Screen Capture set to SDR (most compatible), switching to HDR fixes it.
Not a fan that passcode was added in the last few betas or so when checking deleted or hidden photos. Before it was just Face ID. We should have a toggle to allow passcode or not for that.
My iPhone 15 Pro is running like butter on this beta. Overall, great build so far. Feels like an RC build is getting close.

It was. Thanks! It was set on SDR (most compatable) by default. I switched it to HDR, and that fixed it.

You could create a totally new Applei ID and use that (after registering it for betas, of course) but you won't have your iCloud content.
Your best bet is to either: back up to a laptop and lock that backup, or disable iCloud backups before upgrading. Most likely, you'll do the latter, use iOS 26 for a couple of days, and then decide you'll never go back to 18 so might as well start doing backups again.
Check in Settings > General > Screen Capture. If it's checked on SDR, switch it to HDR. That worked for me.
We will most likely see a beta 7 and 8 like on the years before and the the RC. There is still some time and room for further polish.
But overall I’m pretty happy with iOS 26 since beta 4 and especially now with the beta 6. It’s on a really good way. The overall design really did grow on me.

Installed iOS 26 DB on my 16 PM this morning after seeing suggestions that it seemed stable. So far so good, except putting the phone in low power mode caused constant stuttering that went away as soon as I toggled it off.
In my experience it doesn’t overwrite ios 18. Yes it will backup iOS 26 but when I want to revert back to iOS 18, when restoring, at the end of the setup, there’s an option to select the last backup of iOS 18.
