Since B1, every Beta update has been huge - all around the 10-12GB mark. B6 came in at 10.6GB. I've been on the Beta program for a few years now and cannot remember updates being so large! Or is it just me?
It's been that way since beta 1. I've mentioned before how I dislike it. I've found myself switching wallpapers just to get it to look a bit nicer. This bothers me. I don’t like how the folder is warped through glass. It should be solid like its neighbor at all time, no matter the background. Maybe it’s been there since beta 1, but this is the first time I’ve used an iOS 26 wallpaper. I have to switch wallpapers. Ugh, I love the purple background.
I'm still seeing scrolling jitter in Safari especially on the BBC website as I'm in the UK :-( 16 PM reported it on feedback twice but showing as no other issues reported so looks like we'll have to live with it. :-(Very impressed with this level of performance right out of the box after updating. Everything is incredible smooth and fast, including scrolling in Safari which has been the main offender for me. Loving the Liquid Glass implementation in this beta in dark mode, seems both more glassy and with better readability.
3.4GB on 14PM, downloaded in under a minute. Preparing update was 10 minutes then another 5 to install. So 16 minutes from start to welcome screen.
It seems to be a bug, I think what is downloaded is actually much less.Since B1, every Beta update has been huge - all around the 10-12GB mark. B6 came in at 10.6GB. I've been on the Beta program for a few years now and cannot remember updates being so large! Or is it just me?
For me it varies by device. iPad Pro M2 is usually > 10 GB per beta, iPhone 12 mini is like 2-4 GB.Since B1, every Beta update has been huge - all around the 10-12GB mark. B6 came in at 10.6GB. Optional font installs as per attached picture. What are you referring to?
Thanks for this comment. I’ve been holding off since beta 2 as the scrolling in Safari was so bad it was unusable. I’ll hold off until this is fixed.I'm still seeing scrolling jitter in Safari especially on the BBC website as I'm in the UK :-( 16 PM reported it on feedback twice but showing as no other issues reported so looks like we'll have to live with it. :-(
Oh that’s annoying! The 16 Pros seemed to have been the worst performers on 26 from reading the forums! I did see someone say they’d turned off Apple Intelligence and things improved quite a bit. On my 14PM I haven’t had a single stutter in Safari all day. I’ll check out BBC, but Google search results were the worst for me on the prior betas.I'm still seeing scrolling jitter in Safari especially on the BBC website as I'm in the UK :-( 16 PM reported it on feedback twice but showing as no other issues reported so looks like we'll have to live with it. :-(
Apple just says from iOS 26 on, can’t find an information if this is still the case in this beta.Anybody know a way to tell if the Apple Intelligence handoff to ChatGPT is using ChatGPT 5 yet?

Probably just asking chat gpt when you use it over Apple AI?
Haha
This is the only bug I’ve encountered so far, otherwise agree that this is a fantastically performing release. Night and day from B5.Any time you assign a custom background to a messages chat, there’s a 50/50 chance it will reset itself and show the chat without the background until you force close the app and reopen.
Thanks. That worked. I didn’t know if that was one of those where Apple hides it until it has something in it sort of menus. It’s still there as an option in settings but for some reason the install of B6 turned filtering off for unknown senders. If you toggle it back on in Settings it’ll reappear in the filter options in Messages.

Presumably it's due to the Apple Intelligence local models being updated. Turning Apple Intelligence off reduces the update sizes.Since B1, every Beta update has been huge - all around the 10-12GB mark. B6 came in at 10.6GB. It’s still there on iOS 26, at least when you’re entering text into the Safari address bar.Have they done away with the long press on period to bring up .com,.edu etc. or am I missing a setting. iPad OS26 PB2
