So true. This is still one of the most annoying effects with the new design. It seems that they haven’t figured out a solution so far.
In my opinion they could simply remove it. It looks cheap in my eyes and this pop-in makes it even worse.
My bad. I forgot I was on cellular and it's slow in my basement. Flipped to WiFi and it dropped right in.
wow icons and widgets are still messed up, wild that they ruined it in beta 7 and did not fix for beta 8. hope it's fixed by RC.

I like the look of it, and the way the shimmer moves when moving the phone. The pop-in just really annoys me because it makes it feel lower quality.
Watch out, flight mode/wifi/cellular is somehow broken/bugged on my iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Edit: Working now. Don’t know what was wrong.
Edit 2: Flight mode toggle is still buggy. Takes about 20 seconds to react and then showing an Apple Watch pop-up („flight mode on Apple Watch needs to be set manually“). Never had that before.

Every visual bug (around 10 bug reports) I’ve encountered on beta 7 is still there on beta 8. Can’t see anything new in this one unfortunately.
What do you mean by the icons part? The bug I'm seeing in beta 7 is the icons sometimes changing from their clear/dark/tinted version to another.
So far, not looking good for launch. I feel bad (including myself) who will be purchasing iPhone 17s and getting this expensive out the box. 😞
1- When using Clear app icons theme, clicking on an app icon makes them flash black for a microsecond. And the widgets flicker to original default theme when tapping them, then when exiting the app, the widget turns into dark mode before flicking back to Clear. Glitchy AF.
2- When going into a conversation in the Messages app, you'll see the text box warping into two elements before merging into one. Very unpolished.
New effect when pulling down from Home Screen
26.1 most likely will bring further refinement.
Still RC and revised Beta possible ! So don’t give up on your hope! And I am one of those ones who will get the 17 PM !

Yes, I’ve reported 10 visual bugs around iOS on beta 7, but none has been fixed it seems.

Unfortunately, as I feared, very little was fixed during the beta cycle. Performance, yes, but this is anyway expected. The UI itself is basically the same with a few tweaks here and there. Most of the details, however, and the readability concerns, stay. It is, overall, a low-quality work.
