iPhone Mirroring ceased working from one day to the other ... anyone else? Or any hints what to test? Screenshot 2025-09-16 at 09.45.01.png
Worked fine before on the same "setup"

Having 2 active elements in the dynamic island while editing the background on my 16. (Can be reproduced and will still overlap the button, but less, in english)

There's no way the plethora of visual and (in this case) interface bugs went unnoticed by Apple. It's just that they still went on with a sloppy, careless release. Imho they should either up their ressources or not force themselves into a fixed one-year cycle. What happened to: "We'll ship it, when it's ready."?

Here's another one I just noticed (safari's address bar flashing after resizing, probably rerunning that now necessary "what's the color below this UI-Element" routine). This one's just a visual glitch, but still a testimony to lack of care and eye for details. You don't have to look for long to find bugs like this.

ChatGPT says ...

  • That’s why iPhone Mirroring vanished once the final 26/iOS 18 builds shipped — Apple flipped the geo-check “hard off” for EU.
but can "he" be trusted?
It's definitely a geo-check issue. If you move outside of the EU, it starts to work. But there's another bug: If you've had it working once, your macbook will suggest it in your dock, even if you're back in the EU - but it won't work. It essentially tries to encourage the use of a feature that it has blocked at the same time.

The Live translation feature gives really a „Babelfish" mood, even i.e. the EN>DE translation isn’t perfect (as a short part of Dan’s new YouTube shows) but definitely a step into the future …

Did Apple not say that certain features would be delayed in the EU pending clarifications with the requirements of the DMA and DSA?

Would you be able to try if this works?

Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, tap on My Watch, then Workout, and select Workout Playlist to choose your desired playlist.
Yes, that was where that option exists before, but now, it doesn't appear anymore. I don't have that option where I can set my Workout Playlist.

This is ridiculous. After updating to RC, I lost all notification sounds. Only a clean restore without using a backup helped. Today's update BROKE the notification sounds AGAIN. Time to think about a change.

I posted a topic about this and someone suggested flicking the silent mode switch on and off. It worked for me, on my regular iPhone 15.

can't tell how and why it worked after shutting down the iPad in the same network - but after that the iPhones appeared back in "Desktop & Dock"

I’m using assistive touch to lock the screen instead of the button. I notice that when the keyboard is deployed , the assistive touch button is not moving down of the keyboard but stays in position and in the way of typing. In iOS 18 it wasn’t behaving like this. Has anyone else noticed that ?

Amz app is acting up. Can’t even check out. It struggles now to add something to cart. Maybe I need to delete / reinstall the app?

Also, Music in CarPlay was buggy. As one song was trying to finish, the next song would start at the same time (so I was hearing 2 songs). Then the new song would quickly jump to about 30 seconds in! Weird stuff

Mine quit working right after install. I'm in the US. My mac has not been updated to 26 yet but mirroring worked before the update while being on 15.7.

... as if they are doing something unannounced in the background - like the many "a device was added to your Account, a Mac has now access to iMessage ...". I really hate starting a lot of digging and trial/error always thinking it's me to blame ... and suddenly it works again out of the blue ...

Live activities from my Apple Watch on lock screen and Dynamic Island. Never noticed this before. Clicking it takes me to the fitness app.

I agree but none of the visual issues are showstopper bugs, so chances are we will see 26.0.1 soon to fix most of them.

I'll get notifications on the mac but when trying to open them, the phone app pulls up trying to connect and when the "connecting to iphone" turns white, it just hangs there and then tells me connection was interrupted and to make sure phone is near the mac. Like it's literally sitting ON the mac.

Was this a common thing people were reporting? I haven’t seen any other mentions of it until your post just now, but I was getting a ton of that over the past week on my iPhone and my iPad. Really freaked me out as I have dealt with account intrusions in the past. However I could not see any unidentified devices under my account in settings when I went to check - and I checked multiple times.
