It’s laughable how the tech industry is so devoid of product design talent! Notwithstanding a few flops and copying/buying out a few ideas, Apple is still pretty much the only major personal computing manufacturer with a life long commitment to original product design (stretching all the way back to Susan Kare’s early work on Mac OS’ and then NeXT). 👍

Vivo actually makes really good phones! I have a foldable next to my iPhones and it‘s really impressive and much much better than Samsung etc.

That said, this isn’t even a nice copy of Liquid Glass.
We can say what we want, but technically Liquid Glass is impressive with live glass effects etc. And I actually like it. What vivo did is just „frosted“ and there is no glass effects at all.

Why is almost the entire software industry a bunch of NPCs like Tim Cook? Microsoft pioneered this disaster known as flat design, but the rest of the industry luckily stuck with skeuomorphic design for a couple of years after that. And then Apple mindlessly copied Microsoft and Google by jumping on the flat design bandwagon, and the rest of the industry sheepishly copies Apple by purging skeuomorphism and implementing flat design. The same thing is starting to happen now with glassmorphism, which is a variant of flat design.

Didn't they get the memo that we all hate Liquid Glass? I jest.

But honestly this is more iOS 18 than iOS 26 - it's all more frosted glass. The only current thing really 'inspired' by 26 is the edge highlights and stretchy lock screen clock. Ah but whatever, imitation is the highest form of flattery and all that.

Has everyone forgot Windows Vista?

Guys, transparency themes are old as ****
it's a lot more than simple transparency.

shapes move and highlights are dynamic depending upon how you hold and move the device.
it's subtle sometimes.
but it is well done and nice.

and for a major design language change it's actually pretty good first time round so small tweaks should improve the few areas of concern.

Agreed. Some people disagree to your comment, but they must not be designers.

Actually, I was in the middle of weaning off of a medication recently with my doctor. He retired, and I had to find a new one. I met with him yesterday, and I have done over 2 years of this medication that was supposed to help my depression (which made it worse), and the doctor said flat out, he will not prescribe it whatsoever over and I’m 99.9% with that. For 2 years I have done nothing but research the best way to come off with as little pain as possible, backed by FACTS. Not some just some crap I googled. But the “professional”, or should I say he’s “practicing lol”.

My schedule would have brought me off around March. But now we have a NEW medication that will be done by January.

Yet I’m sure he’d tell me how to design a logo etc. He didn’t look my mother in the eye when he shook her hand. Psychology tells a lot about a person. He had the bedside manners of a surgeon which is not a good thing.

So perhaps I should be more open. But we have to keep Apple product design, and can tweak the UI if they can back it up with facts as to why they did what they did.

This doctor has zero facts on his choice, in fact they are almost opposite of mine, but he doesn’t care to look. And unfortunately where I live we have a huge shortage of doctors. So I just have to suffer. This actually happened to me before and I had a seizure. That’s when I began my research as to why…

Ok happy dream everyone. I just need to buy an Apple product and I’ll be okay…
