I don’t think a 26.0.1 update is needed yet, since 26.0 basically just dropped, and it’s been very stable. I think that should come after the 26.1 beta.

I don’t know why people are thinking there’s going to be a 26.0.1 so soon, I don’t think it makes much sense. And the camera bugs in the new models people cite as reason are likely already fixed in the new build of 26.0. I see absolutely zero reason for a 26.0.1 update so soon after 26.0’s release, it just doesn’t make much sense to me. But I’m hoping we’ll get 26.1 Beta 1 today.

Focus should be improving battery life, IMO.
Hopefully your battery life improves with the next beta. So far, 26.0 has been great on battery life for me on the iPhone 12 even with reduced maximum battery capacity. I noticed fairly significant improvements to my battery runtime on my iPhone from iOS 18 even on earlier betas for 26 when I switched over to the beta on my iPhone. 👍🏻. And I even leave far too many apps open in the background on my iPhone, I am not gentle on it. Maybe there’s some 3rd party app or something causing the battery drain? I hope it gets resolved. 👍🏻

Consensus seems to be the battery is worse in 26:

It is definitely better than earlier betas, though. Will probably get better as they release incremental updates. Hopefully we get something soon.

Maybe because there are issues to address? And there this all over the interwebs and MR:

If I were a betting man, I’d say 26.1 beta comes tomorrow.

I’m not sure if they updated iOS 26 build fixed the camera issues for the iPhone 17, but the fact that Apple said they plan to fix it in a software update tells me it will be a separate 26.0.1 update. It wouldn’t surprise me if it’s released today.

Very stable? Live Activities in CarPlay do not work and now we have this:

As much as I want 26.0.1, I rather then take a few days to fix more bugs before releasing. I also would like watchOS 26.0.1. I've been working with engineers since last week. There is a bug in which when waterlock is enabled on my UW2, it stops tracking time when viewing the AOD. Really bizarre but engineers are aware of multiple reports of this bug.

Even though I think 26.0.1 will come first, I can see 26.1 beta coming first, but not because of iOS 26 being stable. I can only see it happening because they’ve likely been working on 26.1 longer, and might need a little more time to fix the bugs for 26.0.1.

But then it would make sense to put 26.1 on the back burner and put all their energy into 26.0.1. But you never know with Apple.
