iOS 26 Speculation Thread

Just because Apple says it’s possible some “may notice a small impact on performance and/or battery life”, that doesn’t mean everyone’s encountering decreased battery runtime on iOS 26. That doesn’t follow… It just means it’s a possibility. They also say some may experience decreased performance, but that doesn’t mean that’s always the case either… Just because Apple says some may encounter these things doesn’t mean all are encountering these things with iOS 26.0… That doesn’t logically follow…About Apple software updates - Apple Support

Even Apple admits it. And this statement is clearly separate from them saying there will be battery drain while the update is completing in the background. But let’s stay on topic.
But yes, good to stay on-topic. It will be nice to see what comes in future 26.1 betas. 👍🏻
Yeah I suspect it will show up today. Want to see what it includes and how it performs before possibly moving to 26.1 beta.

Being we got a build number (or potential one) and it has shown up in the MAcRumors logs, I would lean towards this week.
Yes, I would say any day Mon to Thurs is in play for this update to drop. Also I wouldn't rule out a Fri if something is included that is important enough and they deem it a emergency.
Wednesdays are uncommon but they do happen. From a quick search, since 2023, it appears there have been 6 updates on Wednesdays.
Again hard to not jump on the beta but as always with new phones and after taking again part the iOS 26 beta since DB1 (with the 15 pro at that time) it’s nice to be on the stable after this long time.
Overall the 17 pro runs fine with 26.0 beside all the small animation issues. But sure hoping for further improvements with the upcoming versions.
