Hard to be reliable when reporting on a company that lately can’t get their sh*t together.
Apple’s been putting out great stuff, they’ve been doing great. 👍🏻

Gurman has a pretty well established track-record of inaccuracy now. And it’s solidly his fault… He tried to claim Liquid Glass wouldn’t look anything like the mockups Prosser was sharing, even though it looks nearly identical to Prosser’s mockups. Gurman has repeatedly and constantly gotten stuff like this completely wrong for the past few years. And he is now making claims so nebulous that they’re hardly leaks…. Like “Apple will announce a software update for Apple’s platforms this summer” level stuff… 🤦🏼‍♂️🤣

I don’t care about literally any of that. I care that Siri isn’t ready, Apple absolutely doesn’t have their **** together. It’s silly to attack Gurman in my opinion I’m not going to shoot the messenger, I don’t care if maybe he got my expectations up a little bit. It’s not his fault that it didn’t come out and obviously he was right about Siri not being ready when he reported that it wouldn’t be before 26.4 beta one came out.

He was also the one who actually said it’d be ready in 26.4. Not Apple.
I don’t really see why you’re defending him despite his repeated failures.

Apple failed to deliver on their feature set big time this time. But Gurman fails multiple times a year so it’s not even a competition in that regard. Both deserve criticism.

I've posted this in another thread but my theory is this release is tied with new hardware, specifically the HomePod mini.

Stock is low worldwide, with most Apple online stores showing delivery of 1-2 weeks, and physical stores are running very low in some places and will also not be restocked for a number of weeks. It sounds like the hardware was ready to be released alongside 26.4 (minus the new Siri stuff), so I can see it being announced in a press release this week with the release of 26.4 confirmed for next week.

Would you rather there be no rumors? What website are we on again?

And again, Mark seemingly was originally right it was supposed to be in 26.4 and he was right about there being delays, it’s not like he just made that up. Why would I blame anyone but Apple for any frustration caused by the delay? We’d have a hell of a lot less to speculate about if not for Mark.

Where are you getting 26.4? Apple said 2026 so they left themselves with a big window to deliver.

I could make half his predictions with 90% accuracy just based on history. Like no big changes for the iPhone 18 series based on a major redesign and next year being the 20th anniversary. But I don’t charge money for my predictions so they don’t carry the same weight.

For someone who’d been wrong a lot, he sure seems to have your unwavering support. It’s confusing why. And there are much more credible leakers like Ming. Except they don’t feel the compulsion to make stuff up.

Those claims are only coming from him. So it seems to me he guessed at “it will come in 26.4”, and then, when he turned out to be wrong, instead of saying “I got that wrong”, he just inserts the rescuing device of “Apple delayed it”… There’s no other source to verify Apple delayed anything… And it’s becoming quite suspect that every time Gurman gets something wrong, that’s his go to… 🤔. And he seems to never admit when he gets anything wrong. Like when he spent months repeatedly claiming Prosser was wrong about the Liquid Glass design, yet didn’t offer any of his own evidence to support his claims, and never admitted he was wrong about that as far as I can tell…

It seems that if we were to believe Gurman, Apple just changes stuff last minute to make him look bad, lol! 😂 🤣 It couldn’t possibly just be that he got stuff wrong… 🤦🏼‍♂️

Many Apple Intelligence features have already shipped, there are just a couple that unfortunately had to be delayed. Sometimes that stuff happens, especially with software. It’s a good thing that Apple is fixing issues before releasing it. Would you rather Apple release something anyways even though they know it has some problems they discovered last minute? Apple’s approach has been far more pro-consumer than the approach a lesser company would have taken and just pretend it’s all good and launch anyways and potentially open their customers up to issues or security threats, etc. Think about it, this proves Apple would rather take it on the chin and take some negative press than shipping a product to their customers with some issues they discovered last minute. This is a good thing, and is not what we see with many lesser companies who would have just proceeded anyways…

Gurman isn’t being “attacked”, he’s being correctly and properly criticized for his repeated record of wrong claims. This isn’t just once in a while, this is practically every claim he makes! And then when he gets these things wrong, instead of admitting he was wrong, he always hops to the rescuing device of “Apple delayed it”… Of course, he’s the only source for this supposed “delay”… If one were to believe Gurman, it would seem like Apple is just purposefully changing their plans all the time just to make poor whittle Gurman look bad… 😂🤦🏼‍♂️. Or maybe, just maybe, the dude guesses and then claims “delayed” when his guess pans out to be wrong…

We could also see more hardware reveals the following days. Which means that they could release the RC on Wednesday or Thursday.

This is what I was thinking this morning as well. It was mentioned above around the HomePod Mini are low qty. I have this feeling we may not get a beta / RC today, it may be later this week.

If you were to order a HomePod mini today in the UK or US it would arrive between 24th and 31st of March. Most other countries are showing lead times like this. That probably puts it right in the window of also being available to pre-order next week and shipping at the start of April much like the AirPods Max 2.

I will almost be disappointed if we see an RC today!

Apple here in Canada says April 1st.

Same in France, 24-31 March.

Considering the announcement for the AirPods Max 2 today, and the Neo and other hardware announced, I'd assume SOMETHING is in store for an official 23.4 release, right? Maybe we do see the rumored new HomePods this week?
