iOS 26 Speculation Thread

Up until now, the schedule had been more or less predictable. Now comes the big question: will there be a release next week, or will they leave a week without any releases like in previous cycles? Seeing how few changes there have been, it wouldn't make sense to extend this any further, but March 26th didn't need it either, so they extended it anyway. We'll see next week.
 
I'm hoping we'll see a release candidate next week, but with 26.2 and 26.3 they let a week go by without any releases between the last beta and the release candidate. I hope not, but they might do it again.

As Apple is having an anniversary April 1 . I think that will be the same week as 26.5 beta 1. That might be the new plan to announce Siri features?

iOS 26.5 stable will be released relatively close to the iOS 27 presentation event. I don't think they'll bring any major features to 26.5 and will probably prefer to add them to iOS 27, thus having another month of beta testing. They'll add some minor improvements in 26.5, but I don't think it will significantly change the final experience.

That would be more than an additional month. 27 will be in beta until like September… I guess we’ll see, but I think if Apple wants to get Siri out sooner than fall this year, that’s going to be 26.5.

That's right, I didn't express myself well in this part haha
If they want to release it in the fall, it could perfectly well come out with iOS 27.0, which will be released in September. But it's clear that the sooner they start, the better, although they might be tempted to save more new features for iOS 27.

I think in iOS 26.5 we'll get something like a Siri 1.5. Some minor changes, but not the full on integrated version. The full on 2 version will be in iOS 27.
