Those claims are only coming from him. So it seems to me he guessed at “it will come in 26.4”, and then, when he turned out to be wrong, instead of saying “I got that wrong”, he just inserts the rescuing device of “Apple delayed it”… There’s no other source to verify Apple delayed anything… And it’s becoming quite suspect that every time Gurman gets something wrong, that’s his go to… 🤔. And he seems to never admit when he gets anything wrong. Like when he spent months repeatedly claiming Prosser was wrong about the Liquid Glass design, yet didn’t offer any of his own evidence to support his claims, and never admitted he was wrong about that as far as I can tell…

It seems that if we were to believe Gurman, Apple just changes stuff last minute to make him look bad, lol! 😂 🤣 It couldn’t possibly just be that he got stuff wrong… 🤦🏼‍♂️
Its entirely possible that what Gurman saw and reported on was an internal-at-the-time build of 26.4 or maybe even 26.5, and maybe minds have been changed.. Some of "next year's" features do somewhat get back ported to the current at the time release. Like X.5 or X.6 at the time, in this case maybe iOS 26.5 sees some of these additions along side the beta of iOS 27 after WWDC26? Numbers!

Yes, it is possible, but the thing is, this is always Gurman’s rescuing device when he’s wrong, which makes it highly suspect… It reminds me of an end-times “expert” who keeps predicting the end of the world, and then when he winds up being wrong, he always claims “God changed His mind and decided to delay it”… 🤦🏼‍♂️

I am not upset with Gurman, nor am I attacking him. I am merely pointing out people should take his claims with a heavy handful of salt at this point, since he has racked up quite a track record for getting this stuff wrong the past few years…

Ordered a new Mini. This is my current estimate.

There’s also stock shortages on the iMac, Mac mini, Mac Studio and the Mac Pro. The base model iPad, the Apple TV 4K and the HomePod is still next day delivery. So there is a possibility of more new hardware. 🤞

Don’t forget that we’re talking about features that were initially supposed to come with iOS 18, and they were delayed. And now there’s even talk about the features being delayed to iOS 27. So yes, Gurman was wrong a couple times, but even Apple has been wrong about their own release timelines. So that will naturally lead to confusion with rumors.

Technically it was just delayed once. Apple never said it’s coming with iOS 26, they only said next year in 2025

We don’t know if things will be “delayed” to iOS 27 or not. Apple never said it was coming in 26, so even if it did ship in 27, it wouldn’t even necessarily mean it had been “delayed”….

And yes, Apple had to delay it for iOS 18 after discovering issues with it last minute, but that sometimes happens with software. Gurman has been wrong a lot more than a couple of times, I’d say he’s actually only been right a couple times lately… And again, I’m just saying people should take Gurman’s claims with a handful of salt, and not pin their hopes and dreams onto them…

And the primary reason I don’t respect him? He never admits he was wrong… He spent months saying Prosser was wrong about Liquid Glass and trying to discredit Prosser, providing zero evidence for his claims, and when he turned out to be wrong and Prosser was vindicated as right, Gurman never admitted he was wrong about it, and never conceded Prosser had gotten it right. At least not that I’ve been able to find… And whenever he’s wrong, his go to is always “Apple delayed it”…

I would guess we‘re done with new hardware.
Apple TV and HomePod Mini 2 were „imminent“ for almost a year if you heard some „leakers“. However, I think they don’t come until new Siri is ready, so most likely alongside iOS 27.
