I've found the iOS and iPadOS 26 betas very smooth personally, so I will not be waiting for a beta drop with my finger hovering over the screen to update to beta 2 immediately.

Instead I'll hold out and wait for reports from you guys that it seems good to go before I do! 😆

They can often get buggier before they get better as the beta cycle progresses!
The first beta is usually always pretty good! It's all downhill from here 😆

I think it’s safe to assume we may see an update on Monday the 23rd, and if not then on Tuesday.

I would also strongly suggest that everyone keep their downloaded .ipsw of each build. Apple signs each build thru the entire beta process, so if something happens on, say, beta 3, you can just “update” back by pressing Option+Check for Update and then browse to one of the prior betas.

You may miss out on something new that’s introduced, but if a prior beta is more stable, it’s sometimes easier than dealing with some issue with an app you need, at least until the next beta comes out.
Even if you forget to archive ipsw, there are quite a few places to grab them from with the right searches (not recommended though). I had to resort to that to get rid of drastic mobile connectivity issues during the iOS 18 beta cycle (modem crash every 5 minutes).

Beta 2s have been known to break things. However, I'm optimistic.
It‘s 50/50. Sometimes B2 is the saving grace, with change notes having like 80% of the known issues solved. Other times they crash your modem and f*** up your day.

I‘m eagerly awaiting B2 tomorrow / tuesday, hope it heavily tweaks liquid glass accessibility so I can jump on the beta bandwagon.

Yeah, some folks actually see better performance overall on b2 and then b3, while some folks like yourself have detrimental issues where you have to roll back.. Seems like it's on b4 and on where any fixes they're working on make there way thru as a whole. Imagine being on the internal daily builds! like a psycho lol

The public betas are usually ok, I cannot remember it breaking anything for me and I have been betaing since iOS 7.

They better fast track liquid glass accessibility fixes for B2 or I riot on here.

I am here for the hype. Still on iOS 18 on my 16PM. Will jump on 26 when the Aero glass receives tweaks making it universally usable. Good lord I don’t know how I held off from jumping on 1st beta. Whatever they showed in WWDC presentation seemed not kinda “Must have” for me.

same, hopefully it will be better by beta 3 or 4.

I’m not getting my hopes up for a beta 2 this week. Not that it won’t happen, but Apple sometimes goes 3 weeks before releasing beta 2 of a major release. Just trying to temper expectations.

I preface this by saying that this is not meant to be a complaint, I am fully aware of what I sign up for when dabbling in the world of Betas.... But this has been by far the worst beta in a long time for me. My 16PM UI has been jittery the whole time, constant resprings, freezing apps... and a few other quirks. Now I consider myself a beta veteran lol so I take all of these in stride and move on, but I just find it interesting that it hasn't been this bad for me in a really looong time. And as you guys know we have had some doozys over the years. Anyway here's hoping that beta 2 smoothes things out for me..... And I say ME, because I know with betas YMMV so some folks may be having the best beta experience ever

Absolutely love the beta so far, only negative has been the markedly worse battery life on my 15 Pro, something that usually comes hand in hand with a major version beta 1. Hoping to see some improvement this afternoon.

Battery is definitely under heavy load but that’s the trade of with such an early beta.
I will replace my battery in September when we’re closer to the final release.

I don’t think I’ve ever done a beta 1 before so I can’t comment how it compares, it’s definitely not a smooth ride but I knew what I was signing up for and look forward to the gradual improvements. Hopefully today brings some of them :)
