iPhone Air here, and have to say I'm really impressed. Small things everywhere, in addition to improved performance almost everywhere. And I'm still indexing and on Siri waitlist.

Woke up and looked at Health app, and sleep was updated immediately; on 26, used. to take nearly a minute or more to refresh from day before. Did a search for a contact, and the window instantly showed everything related to that person.

Very impressive for a b1. The "under-the-hood" improvements shouldn't be dismissed here at nothing major.

I’m 12 hours in and my indexing is still going strong. No sight of New Siri. Is it just a lost cause at this point for this beta? Has anyone who didn’t install the beta right away gotten any movement on Siri?

May have already been mentioned in this thread, but are the outer edges of app icons looking low quality / jagged for anyone else? Kind of like if you turned off edge smoothing in a game for instance?

It's noticeable mostly with the clear / tinted icons. They have this dark jagged outline around the icon glyphs. I get that they want to make them easier to see but this doesn't look quite right to me. I have reported to Apple regardless.

It looks like I'm using a high-contrast theme even though I'm not.

Screenshot: worst-case scenario, light clear icons on a white background (just for demonstration), but noticeable in regular use as well. Screenshot smoothens out the edges somewhat - in reality they look more jagged than this.

I'm seeing this low-resolution edge around all glass elements, especially bad on the left and right edges. Did someone forget to turn on antialiasing or something?

Did someone notice their iPhone not charging properly with 3rd party chargers after upgrading to iOS27 beta1?

I use a Hama 65W charger with a genuine Apple usbc to lightning cable, other phones charge fine with the same setup. The one I updated starts charging for a second, then charging is interrupted. Via magsafe this device charges just fine.

It'll happen eventually. Probably today, but soon.

My 17 PM is still indexing 21 hours later. I am still on the Siri Waitlist. I haven't started the update on my M4 iPad yet - which is really where I should have started the 27 beta train. No issues so far. Short trips with Wireless CarPlay were fine. No issues or anything.

I did not ice on my Belkin Stand Charger; it gave me a white ring when putting it on. Now, not sure if that is because I had it on and it was fully charged or something else, but the first time I noticed that.

Usually if the iPhone is not charging until the process ends, the indexing is not completed.
yes, i know. it should also be locked for best performance. my phone has been on a mixture of charging methods since yesterday, from wired most of the day to MagSafe overnight

24 hours later and I’m still on the New Siri waitlist… 😑

I guess this is the new way to have something “available later in the year” 🤣 They let a few people in up front and throttle the rest.

I guess it makes sense as they are undoubtedly testing how well the infrastructure handles the load, but I can’t see a multi-day wait list when it goes live in September. They HAVE to mail it this time.

I work at an Apple store and we usually just let the customer know that we aren't able to work with beta firmware and that the device would need to be restored to a stable release.
Thought they gave you guys the ability to recover a bricked device (no matter the OS) in-store… 🤔

When using the Starbucks app to do Apple Pay it either gets stuck or after restarting the phone it just fails. Oddly it did work when sending Apple Cash via iMessage this morning

I'm still confused: Apple Pay doesn't need or use any app. It's just double-click on the power button and your credit cards show up. In what way did you use the Starbucks app? And does native Apple Pay work if you just double-click the power button?

Is there anyway to turn AI features off like there was in iOS 26?
I don’t think so. Apple Intelligence and Siri is now just Siri. I thought, at first, then turning off Siri would turn off Apple Intelligence but it still seems active in apps like Mail with summaries.

Also there was no option to disable Apple Intelligence on install like we’ve had in the past. I guess it’s too baked in now to have an off switch?

so is the new Siri working for some of you? what about it? what is showing now versus the usual, decades old Siri?

Why would Apple open up the Beta program to everyone if they aren’t going to support it in stores?

Because diagnosing a possible hardware/software issue would be a nightmare because you don’t know whether it’s a hardware issue, buggy software or just a buggy beta.

At least if everyone is running the same officially released OS, then that makes diagnosing issues easier.

Plus, you would have chosen to install that beta, so any possible software issues are pretty much your problem – it’s a beta after all. Issues are almost guaranteed.

I have a 15 Pro and updated to iOS 27 DB 1 and also did a force restart and it works fine so I'm not sure if certain models are affected by this or not. Just wanted to share.

Edit: @AppleTester what model do you have, is it a middle eastern device?

Nah, 15 Pro Max 512GB, EU launch version!
Luckily, I had a full iTunes backup. Still, it took nearly 2 hours to DFU reset the phone, install iOS 26.6, and reimage the device from backup.
After that, I spent another hour re-adding 15 debit and credit cards and reactivating all of my banking apps.
What an absolute nightmare!!!
