Incredibly disappointing news regarding the AutoMix + Crossfade issues when using HiRes Lossless described earlier:
IMG_4979.jpeg

Seems as though Apple is not only aware that Song Transitions are non functional with HiRes, but this is (currently) intended behavior.

I’m wondering if the new AutoMix requires too much compute to support HiRes, but that doesn’t explain Crossfade.

I hope this gets changed soon 😕

I think it looks more like glass now.
I’m just not sure I agree. Before, you used to be able to see through the dock and the NowPlaying widgets to see the details of the wallpaper in the background, similar to LG on iPhone apps. Now, only some of the color comes through.

This is especially noticeable when using Maps and looking at the new dock; the greenery or blue colors for water barely come through at all, and there are no refractions around the edges.

Different strokes for different folks though! Just wish CarPlay would respect the new LG slider.

Observation, my iPad is still indexing and I am on the waiting list for the new Siri AI. However I was playing with my HomeKit cameras and it is showing the new AI detection. One thing I noticed is it is going back before I updated to the beta and running AI on my HomeKit secure video. So on top of anything on your device, it might be indexing things like this as well. I did not expect it to classify things before I upgraded my iPad to the beta.

I'm curious if the long indexing time is in some part related to photo library size. What is everyone else's size? mine is ~475GB and I have optimize photo storage turned on.
I have 268MB in Messages and 79MB on Photos....yes, you read that right--MB's. The total phone storage is only 82GB. And my phone has been indexing for 24 hours. Feels like it should be significantly faster than this...

I don't have much data on my phone either, and it's been indexing since Monday evening.

The phone is cold to touch, so I don't think it's actually doing anything. I've left it on charge, hard rebooted, and still the same. I'm assuming it's a bug with the indexing and it'll get fixed next beta. I'll update this post if it ever finishes.

Do we really still need writing tools?
You can ask Siri AI to perform the same task

Or is it by design? Maybe Apple is putting all cards on Siri…

Ngl that’s a great workaround for the “Describe your Change” feature in writing tools. On the macOS 27 golden gate if you right-click on any selected text it’ll have an Ask Siri icon on the toolbar.
