iOS 27 Beta 1 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

It might be too early to tell, but using the new Siri with CarPlay is hit or miss. Especially when asking Siri to shuffle a playlist…it was wrong every single time.

More indexing and testing need to be done before a conclusion

Unfortunately not.

I use third-party apps, as I don't like the way Apple's Calender app removes events from the widget as soon as they're 15 minutes past the start time. Apps such as "Calendar 366" even have a toggle for this, whereas some just display events until they've reached the end-time.

When I first saw Siri pop up Wednesday night, before I played with it, I turned on Health access, and it's worked since

I did notice that while it works fine on the iPhone Air (asking weight pulls correctly, just tested) - Golden Gate says it has no access and that I'd have to ask on the phone or watch (why doesn't it sync? Why is there no Health app for Mac, that simply reads the synced data?)

PS - still indexing, I use Sleep Cycle - so it's been active and on charger every night (ever since Sleep Cycle dropped on the App Store, near the first few weeks of existence!)

Some automations may need the permissions re-enabling. Running it once manually will highlight any permission issues.

I also had problems with automations based on Focus modes. I had to toggle the Focus trigger to another Focus, and back to the one I wanted. Then it worked.

Is this a bug - live activities in landscape mode only shows up in Apple apps like calendar, weather, shortcuts but not in third party apps like WhatsApp or games.
 
Well, installed this on day 1 and still no new Siri. Seems like it’s not gonna happen. Do you think if I roll back to iOS 26 and then come back to the beta I will have a shot at the new Siri. Seems like most that are installing lately are like, “got the new Siri in about 2 hours.” 🤷🏻‍♂️

DFU mode, let it install the latest public iOS 26 release, and then restore from a backup you made (and ensured you didn't over-write) from iOS 26. Everything from iCloud *should* sync back as normal.

I doubt that'll make a difference. It seems Apple is granting access maybe country by country, or ... well, could be random in which case your method is like buying a lottery ticket, binning it, and buying another with different numbers before the draw. Who knows 😁

I’ve experienced missing texts particularly from SMS conversations. While the message list initially shows the preview of the last text in the conversation, when I click into the conversation, all texts are missing. Force reboot messages brings the text conversation back to the message list, but doesn’t fix the history missing.

Shows up as normal on Watch and non-ios27 devices (suggesting they are still synced). Filed feedback report.
 
iPhone 12 Pro

WiFi Bug: When I attempt to set a Manual DNS address in (Configure DNS Manual) WiFi settings it will appear to save the DNS address but then it resets back to Automatic and deletes the Manual DNS address that I entered.

I have reset the Network Settings, and disabled the Connectivity Assist. No matter what I do I cannot get my iPhone to hold a Manual set DNS address. I have submitted feedback to Apple about this bug.
 
Safari has a redesign. Tabs, bookmark, history etc. are moved on top, which makes easier for me. This is very nice design changes.

Siri pops up at unexpected times for me. The most frequent times are listed below, but it also pops up completely randomly.

1. When pulling the control center or notification shade down, Siri pops up at the behind whatever I’m trying to access. I have to dismiss both when I’m done.
2. When accessing the Passwords app, Siri pops up. I have to dismiss Siri to view my passwords.

Anyone else?

Not for me. Maybe because I am using iOS 27 beta on iPhone 13, which does not have Siri AI?

OK, what am I missing? Occasionally when I take the phone out and press the side camera button to wake it up and then press it again to take a photo, I get an animation around the viewfinder and next to the camera button but it does not actually make an exposure. If I use the onscreen button, it makes an exposure.... and then from then on the side camera button works as expected.

Did something change? Am I holding it wrong?
 
FYI , as my wifi and Cellular icon dissapeared again and indexing was still on, i decided to restart the iphone via Siri and indexing continued for 2 hours , and it just finished , so for me it took 3 days approx. Hope battery life will be better cos it's the thing that bothers me the most on beta ..
 
Both iPad Pro and 17 PM still indexing since Monday. The iPad has not been turned off nor left the house.
iPhone has been left on 2 nights in a row.
As for new Siri I didn’t realize you had to manually choose to get on the waiting list so I just added myself.
Facebook messenger has had issues where the keyboard won’t pop up. This morning it erased a new message before I even hit enter. It stopped but still odd.
