iOS 27 Beta 1 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

I have made the switch over to ios 27. Let's hope all goes well.

I have done all betas ever since its a thing on iphone. Never I have experienced such an instability to the point that I had to roll back. This is on an iPhone 17 PM

- Bluetooth crashes and goes off, turning it back on freezes the phone
- Wifi keeps going on/off on/off (WiFi 7 MLO Access Points) constantly
- Home App removed 6 of my 8 home cameras, they are just plain gone
- Settings app freezes 90% of the time and i cannot click on anything

For a version that is supposed to be a refined/stable of ios26, it is awful and i'm a very understanding person when it comes to beta testing, this one just does not even allow me to use the phone at all 😀

Being an EU user as well, its for now anyway a good skip as there is not so much without all the Siri AI stuff.

Thanks for that, although I still am fuming mad because of the fact that we in the EU don’t get Siri AI for now, this info makes it easier to skip the beta for the time being.

Dark icons seem darker to me. Used to be more gray and now it’s black.

Can confirm icons are definitely darker. Installed on my iPhone 15 Pro Max and put it right next to my 17PM. 17 looks greyer on those dark icons

The Home app seems to have some primitive support for Power Metering (but millenia behind Home Assistant which shows way more).

Silly dead spot at the top of music also then adding photos is a huge circle before it redraws itself to normal size

They made the battery icon bigger. Also, this new toolbar looks worse than it did in iOS 18.

I think performance wise they cooked 👀 doesnt feel like a beta and better than any iOS 26 Release.

If that ends up being the case for most then it shows what a PATHETIC release 26 is. Runs like trash even on newer devices.

for me the keyboard gate is back, I'm playing with ios 27 for 10 minutes and the number of touches where I touch an icon on a home screen and it gets touched and the animation plays, but nothing happened afterwards is like immense ;/

In Settings, is Apple Intelligence a simple on/off toggle or does it allow you to turn it on and off for each app?

I don't want to be that person, but as a software engineer, that's literately your job year round. Your paid to fix and debug code. Then send to production.

I should not have to wait a whole year when "you" (Apple) should have made OS 26 perfect by 26.1. or dare i say, at launch. I bought a M5 iPad Pro that stayed in the box 5 months until 26.3 launched.

As a software engineer - I wish! Those in charge want new features yesterday and don’t care about optimizing or realistic deadlines!

Ship new features, cut corners and hit deadlines that don’t move.

Possible bug. Search in the Setting is not working for me. It shows me a list, but when I type something and hit search (ex - "Messages"), it does not change the list or show my the Messages settings. Screen just stays stuck on the initial list. Anyone else? If so, I'll report it.

EDIT: Noticed I have a message that says Indexing in Progress to improve search (been saying that for the last hour). Maybe that has something to do with it and it'll work once that's done.

EDIT EDIT: Soft reset fixed it. Nevermind...

I’ve just been notified new Siri is available, so waitlist didn’t last long.

Did the toggle for Apple Intelligence disappear just for me? I mean it’s on but there’s no way to turn it off…?
Also the old trick with switching language and region to the US didn’t work - no Siri AI waitlist for us I guess 🙁

Siri AI access is rolling out. I just got access. It might have become activated when I tried one of the new Photo tools (reframe specifically), so if you don't see it on your system yet, give that a shot.
