Are you sure it is gone for you? If I type something in Messages, Mail, etc. I can select the text and then I see this Siri symbol:

I also lost that option.

Question for those who upgraded two devices connected to the same iCloud account:
Does the second device did the indexing too? If so, was it faster than for the first device?
I'm trying to know if there's some kind of shared index between devices (especially for iCloud Drive docs, iMessage etc) or if every device needs to index by itself

If anyone is looking to find out what percentage they are at for indexing I saw this on 9to5mac and posted in the other thread

Post in thread 'Indexing still in progress. Is this “normal”?'

So what your saying is that they could have very easily added in a percentage visual but decided that we shouldn’t be concerned with how long it’s taking to index and that we should just assume that it’s running correctly in the background.

It seems to me that each device will have its own index.

Sorry if it’s been mentioned but anyone having internet/wifi issues?

My 17 Pro Max often loses connection then WiFi drops and I’m using mobile data. After a second or two WiFi connects again.

Seems to only be happening when I use Safari and sometimes YouTube. Safari is by far the worst and I can almost replicate it so feel confident it’s a bug. Never had Wi Fi issues until this beta.

Safari as a whole feels buggy. Sometimes it freezes on a web page when I try press a button/link.

Also, I’m still indexing and I upgraded asap after it released. Noticed my phone get a bit warmer too and battery has got much worse.

Overall still a solid first beta but I am looking forward to Beta 2.

Is it me, or is typing within the Siri app super frustrating? The spacing gets all weird and I’m constantly having to go back and add/remove spaces and whatnot. Not seeing typing difficulties anywhere else…

Yes. It appears to be indexing based on Apple ID. I could be wrong.
Both of mine are still indexing 🤨 and they received Siri at the exact same time.

Went back to iOS 26 I just need the most stable os on my main phone it gets too hot and slow. Is not a bad beta but I wait for beta 4-5

I don’t know if it’s just me but on my iPhone and iPad, it’s around 50+ gigs being used by the iOS and system data. That makes devices that have 128 GB almost unusable. Hopefully this is addressed in the next beta or Apple makes 256 GB the new base standard along with 12 GB of ram.

How’s the beta holding up for 16 pro users so far?

edit; TLDR; update good, battery sucks (expected), performance great, storage fine, WiFi sucks, indexing isn’t a conspiracy theory.

I installed day 1 and it’s been pretty good, only bugs I’ve encountered is the WiFi bug, screenshot editing bug and one time where I took a photo and it didn’t appear in my camera roll 🤔

Thermals are mostly good, the odd time it’s gotten warm but nothing to worry about.

Battery life sucks but it’s beta 1, I didn’t expect much lol

New Siri has been hit or miss for basic tasks, haven’t tried much of the complex ai stuff yet.

Indexing took about 8 days to finish (only charging when I go to bed for about 5-6 hours at a time)

Storage doesn’t seem too inflated like others have come across (iOS / Apple Intelligence taking up 26.16gb, system data around 15gb if anyone cares about that info, being a beta I expect that to fluctuate a lot while it generates logs constantly)

The phone itself seems much snappier and smoother with the odd stutter here and there, better compared to when I was on iOS 26.5 and 26.6b1 (this alone makes me think the poor battery life is worth it since I can still make a full day with light/moderate usage)

in terms of apps, all of them work fine. I’ve had 1 app crash and 2 of them “hang” but restarting those apps fixed it and haven’t had any issues since.

Can’t forget about the separate volume slider for alarms now! About bloody time we got that feature, hopefully no more silent alarms 🤞

Honestly pretty impressed with a beta 1 so far, Apple is definitely going in the right direction with this update.

Yes! I am. Also when scrolling it is very jittery.
