@surferfb... IPhone 17 Pro Max T-Mobile. I'm currently running the 26.6 Beta 2.
Thank you for the indexing information. Well said.
So, will some of the indexing needed for iOS 27 already be going on in my beta version? I'd like to do the 27 Beta, but might wait until the 2nd release of the public version before jumping in.
That is my understanding, but to be clear I don’t have confirmation the indexing is indeed happening on 26.6; just heard it mentioned on a couple of podcasts.

No it’s a totally new thing. Idk if you have installed betas before but this is the most stable beta ever. On the 17 pro its great. I’ll recommend you do plus beta 2 is around the corner

So I didn't read the whole 68 pages, but maybe someone can help me out. I got the new Siri AI on my iPad, but somehow I don't get Siri if I long press in a text field (where writing tools used to be). It's just missing. Just as there is no Siri in the Camera app.

Is that a know bug? Or what else
Settings, Siri, Talking, check “Siri” or “Hey SIRI”, speak SIRI & Siri bubble should appear at top.

Just pull down from anywhere on the screen. That began to annoy me so I’ve disabled it for now. I prefer access to the writing tools.

Reported a bug

When taking a screenshot and you edited the screen before saving it, it doesn't save the changes i.e if you cropped it or marked it etc. it only saves the original copy

looks like we're getting a fix

I've logged a Feedback regarding Siri being a dumb mf.

on iOS 26:

"Add milk to London Shopping List”
-> ok, I have added milk to your London Shopping list

result: “milk” added to my reminder list called London Shopping
CORRECT

on iOS 27:

“Add milk to London Shopping List”
-> you do not have a list called London Shopping List, shall I create it?

result: “milk” added to a new reminder list called “London Shopping List”
WRONG

iOS 27 second attempt:

“Add milk to London Shopping”
-> ok, I have added milk to London Shopping

result: “milk” added to a new and duplicate reminder list called London Shopping, without warning that it was going to create it
WRONG

I encounter few disconnections of CarPlay. I hope it will be solved on beta 2.
Mine started doing this yesterday. I installed last Wednesday the 10th. Wireless CarPlay was rock solid till yesterday. It dropped twice in about 3 hours of driving. Today it dropped four times in 20 minutes. I disabled Connectivity assist and it still was doing it. Weird how this showed up almost a week later. I left control center open and I watched both Bluetooth and WiFi turn off and then back on again a few seconds later. My phone was mounted on a MagSafe charger in my truck at the time too. So it shouldn’t be power related.

Has anyone received a response from Apple regarding over-sharpened glass edges and weird borders/shadows on all iOS 27 glass components when using light mode?

I really wonder how much of it is expected behavior vs. unexpected on this beta 1, considering apple’s official resources show at least 3 different designs/revisions so far. The dark borders on the left and right edges look so strange to me that it’s distracting.

Automatic dark/light mode is not working for me. I’m using sunset/sunrise schedule.
It doesn’t work at all, you have to use time of day instead for now. I’m using 7am and 7:30 pm currently to change appearance about an hour after sunrise and about half an hour before sunset.

I also noticed today that the weather app applies ugly dark tint to all glass components when set to “tinted”. I wish it would at least do a light tint when device is in light mode. It’s so pretty when set to the middle setting.

Apologies if i've missed this but those on iOS 26 and 27, can you see if you can do Clean Up on RAW pictures? Just realised I can't on iOS 27 but wondering if it's the case on iOS 26 as well.

I cant tell if this was already posted, but there is finally a landscape Now Playing interface in Apple Music.
However, it so far ONLY works for Now Playing and nothing else.

By the way, a little PSA: until custom EQ for AirPods is available (not for me so far but the airpods beta hasnt installed yet), you can and should use Headphone Accommodations, with a “slight” “balanced” tone.
Ive been using this setting for well over a year, recently used Sony XM8’s and found it didnt sound, good. Turns out I’m just spoilt at this point. The sound is actually clear and practically as clean as Bluetooth allows, especially considering how small Airpods are.
Haven’t been following the thread super closely, but re: AirPods EQ, is there a specific setting on the tri-band that’s generally agreed to be a positive change over recommended?

Depends what you’re looking for and which model you’re coming from. The APP2 are widely agreed to be a great tune out of the box, but have a slight bump in bass compared to a target line. This decreases as volume levels increase.

The APP3, meanwhile, seem to be all over the map on sound, depending heavily on how they’re worn and how they fit in your ears. The general consensus is that they are much more bass heavy than the 2’s, as well as more bright in specific parts of the treble.

If you want them to be closer to a “reference” sound, I’d recommend finding a response curve for your specific model and trying to adjust the bands compared to the “target” curve. I haven’t changed anything on my 2’s, but would have likely lowered the bass a tad and the treble a smidge on the 3’s.

Happy tuning!

Maybe I'm alone in this thinking, but don't install a beta and then complain that it's driving you crazy that something is broken.
You're still allowed to complain even if it's a beta. Of course if it is really affecting you then go back to a stable version and you should know that there will be bugs. Of all the bugs the wifi one is definitely the most annoying if it's causing constant internet connection drops. That'd annoy you even if you were using the phone as a developer. Apple should prioritise fixing this issue.

There is nothing generally agreed upon yet I think, at least nothing that I've heard.Especially considering it works on different models and therefore changes the sound differently. However, if you put all three on max. clarity seems better, less muddy. But honestly you're better off using headphone accommodations.

I have the APP2. Really interesting that the APP3 is considered to be less neutral, I had no idea there would be such a difference.

As mentioned above, I have the APP2. One thing of note is that I do use media assist within the hearing aid section (but not the hearing aid feature itself), but it sounds like that has less to do with Headphone Accommodations or the EQ? How do those settings play off of one another? And would you still recommend starting with the Headphone Accommodations (slight something?) and the EQ on max?

I’m really curious what that does and why it helps actually.
