Since updating to iOS27 beta I have a message badge that will not go away. I have no unread messages. I’ve turned badges off, did a restart, and turned it back on…no luck.

Also asked Siri to read all unread messages. Also no luck. Any tips?
Yes i have the same

Expressive Voices Preview not available for British voices - none available, can't turn it on.
Not available in Canada either using American voices that are set under English - Canada. Tried switching to English - US but no luck and it removed the new Siri completely by switching to US English.

I don't want to be that person, but as a software engineer, that's literately your job year round. Your paid to fix and debug code. Then send to production.

I should not have to wait a whole year when "you" (Apple) should have made OS 26 perfect by 26.1. or dare i say, at launch. I bought a M5 iPad Pro that stayed in the box 5 months until 26.3 launched.

Yeah, that's wishful thinking. As a software engineer in a huge company you're paid to do exactly what management says. And if their priority is "ship new features, screw old bugs", that's what you do.

So it‘s not locked off yet in the EU? Changing device language is enough?
It’s a bit weird …

On MacOS, I only needed to change language and location to US English.

On iPad and iPhone, I had to additionally change the App Store account to a non-EU account. (Tried US and CH, both working)

Doing this, I was able to join the waitlist for the new Siri.

Maybe they also have a performer culture like Google, where you‘re better off shipping a new feature with your team than refining or bug fixing existing stuff. Not noteworthy on your performance review.

No idea what internal Apple culture is like, just speculation.

New Siri is only blocked from gatekeeper platforms iOS and iPadOS. macOS is exempt (currently).

OK, so I completed the Siri AI waitlist. It is my understanding that Siri AI uses Gemini. But, I see this Chatgpt Extension menu item under Siri. If this is enabled, does Siri use Gemini AND Chatgpt, or does it replace Gemini with Chatgpt?

I'm in Spain and by changing the region to US and language to English I was able to access the waitlist on macOS, but not on iOS 🙁
