In theory, yes.
in practice if I have multiple streaming apps like Times Radio and Spotify in the background they can co conspire to run together snd use loads of battery. Hard to reproduce but it has happened.
Personally I close them all occasionally, and nobody can persuade me that having 35 apps in the background uses no resources. RAM surely?
Better close them all! Have a clean system… 😅

They really need to fix this. If backup fails for whatever reason, don't wait another 24 hours to try again!
It happens at least once a month

Backups don't take that long, nor use much battery. I don't understand why it only backs up when connected to a charger and WiFi.

I also don't understand why backups can't be automated/scheduled. It's as if Apple doesn't want you to back up your phone regularly.

This is a classy record.

I love listening to this - Brilliant with decent headphones and in the car

I’ve gotten a lot of great music discoveries over the years from peoples screenshots. Not familiar with this artist, but so far my interest is piqued
I found this artist listening to a synthwave station on YouTube. I didn’t realize they had so many albums. Going for a deep dive.

My Home Screen Siri suggestions seem to be back to normal after adding some apps back to the “don’t suggest list. Everything else feels awesome.

How the hell is possibile that this beta 3 is working better than the latest stable 26 lol
Overall refinement, slightly dialed back Liquid Glass effects. More isn’t always for the better.
DB3 makes a really good impression so far. Nevertheless said that I was also fine with iOS 26.1 and later on.

Where do you get your assertion that background apps cannot go rogue? If you say
Did you even read my response? I specifically said that it’s possible but it’s not something you’d experience every day. Apps are suspended when in background. Facts don’t change depending on who’s providing it. You’re just stating your one-off experience and your opinion — that doesn’t constitute a fact.
If you prefer to kill the apps just for the sake of it and add to battery drain, it’s up to you. But you don’t need to.

Indexing message has departed on both Air and iPad Pro. 👍

New items, both on Air.
1. Mail when opened defaults to Junk folder. 🙄
2. When scrolling through Maps, the screen update lags and I get the grey with white lines for a couple of seconds as it fills in. On WiFi. 🫣

Started in B2 and still not fixed yet in B3. In Spotlight search, an app’s icon disappears completely if it appears in the suggested list and receives an update; icons remain visible when apps don’t get updated. Searching again multiple times, or restarting the device to refresh the icons, restores them. This issue occurs whenever an app is updated and it happens to be in the list; it’s 100% repeatable.

this is annoying - can't get the icon to reappear and don't want to keep restarting.

It's even more annoying than I thought. If you get a notification on the watch from the app with a blank, the watch icon shows it as a ?

I've reported this issue as well; I really hope it's fixed in B4 because it's a pretty bad bug that's lasted for two betas. Thankfully, restarting is quick, as I can just ask Siri to restart my iPhone.

Just a fair warning, updating my iPhone 11 from DB2 to DB3 got stuck on the boot screen and seemingly bricked itself. Also saw another person with an iPhone 16 on Reddit with the same issue.
So there may be an issue with OTA updates at least.

General indexing is done for me, as it is for many on here, but Mail search is still doing its thing.

Am I stupid or are Shortcut automations just gone? None trigger and I have no idea where to find them (Shortcuts just shows Home automations and no way to create any automations)?

The 10 I had just vanished.

Have the time and other status bar symbols always been able to go black/white irrespective of each other? Or is this a behavior change as part of the larger change of faster color-switching based on content behind the status bar?

Is anyone having an issue installing the DB3 IPSW in iTunes? I get this message but I have the most recent version of iTunes.
I use the new Windows app, and beta 2 was installable, but beta 3 isn't. I understand that some protection that the IPSW files should have wasn't in beta 2 and they've added it in beta 3. On Windows, 3utools will be the only option for updating with the IPSW file.

I'm also experiencing this issue: when I zoom in on an HDR photo, it really blows out the details. While this seems a bit better in beta 3, I still don't think it's quite right. The report I submitted showed more than 10 similar cases, so there are many of us with this bug.
The report Apple did respond to, which surprised me because my report didn't have any other similar issues, was about the camera's autofocus going haywire, especially in artificial light. It seems they've already fixed it.
