iOS 27 is still many months away, but there are already plenty of rumors about new features that will be included in the software update.

The first beta of iOS 27 will be released during WWDC 2026 in June, and the update should be released to all users with a compatible iPhone in September.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman said that iOS 27 will be similar to Mac OS X Snow Leopard, in the sense that Apple is apparently focused on improving "quality and underlying performance." However, there will still be some new features, with many of them expected to fall under the Apple Intelligence umbrella.

Below, we have recapped eight rumored iOS 27 features in bold text:Over the coming weeks and months, additional iOS 27 rumors will likely surface.

How about the most important and useful option, i.e disabling Liquid Glass?
I can't believe people are still complaining about it. It's the most underwhelming and subtle restyling ever. Most people will not even have realised anything changed at all. If there is something to complain about it's that this update was not bold enough, but since it is so minimal there is little to no point to have the option to disable it, as practically nothing would change. I hope iOS 27 brings much bolder changes to the interface.

I wish they refine the lock screen with Liquid Glass. It doesn’t feel right to hold a notification and get the old UI with grey background and unmatching border radii.

And the animation when sliding up/down the lock screen. Looks good when going fast, but so unfinished when you go slowly and release the finger

Much doubt that 26.4 will have any AI changes. I just don't believe it's even in internal alpha testing yet. And you can't say 27 is a Snow Leopard release the same year they fix Siri. This needs to be a complete rework of AI and how it interacts with every app on the OS. It's going to be their most broken OS yet. Just hope it is worth the wait.

A more personalized version of Siri is expected to launch with iOS 26.4, and more changes are slated for iOS 27
I just learned about the ability to enable ‘type to Siri’ which was released in iOS 18:

and I’m now using this feature religiously. I carry two iphones so my main has type to Siri (but voice Siri disabled) and my secondary📲 has the regular (voice) Siri👌😎

It's the most ... subtle restyling ever.
That's just straight up not true. I've had multiple non-techy friends reach out to me asking if they could turn it off because they legitimately hate how bouncy and shiny everything is now.

I always get some complaints about any change, but this is a whole new thing. iOS 26 adoption numbers compared to uh... every other ****in' year... show that too.

ugh, I don't know what exactly AI will do to/for Calendar, I just hope we can turn it off. I use my Calendar app linked crossed 3 devices and the last thing I want is AI suggesting, changing (intentionally or unintentionally), or mucking with any of it!

More over I don't want any AI assisted-ness on my Macs. Music is all but ruined now, being force-fed Apple Music Radio and 'suggestions'—I just want to go back to (dumb iTunes) my music personally curated. I don't need  being a part of that let alone my calendar and work appointments.

The adoption numbers are subject to dispute.

You’re joking, right?

The white UI flashes alone are driving me me up the wall.

The problem with iOS 27 is that it will have Liquid Glass and because of that, there will be no reason to change to iPhone.

I expect my current phone to last 3-4 years. Let's see what happens with iOS but they really need to do a very good job to make me change back (or Android screwing up the system in a really messy way).

For now, no thank you Liquid Glass

Absolutely not holding my breath for improvements to Siri with 26. Even with the new Gemini deal there’s just not enough time. I’m betting 27 at best before we can get Mom home from that airport.

Which also wasn’t great timing with this version jump. Mom has been stuck at the airport since iOS 16 and she may finally get home with iOS 27!
