Sounds good to me.
Though I am one of the seemingly few here who does not have any issues with 26, not saying there aren't any, just haven't run into any with my use case(s)
Same. Many of the things people posted they didn’t like I hadn’t even noticed. Like the border line around the app icons. Maybe it was my background that caused me to miss it. But I honestly had no opinion about it. Many other examples too of where I had to go look closer to see the issue being described. Most of my friends are indifferent but one doesn’t like it at all.

Perhabs you have a recent hardware phone?!
Try it with iPhone 11 or something older...

Heres a crazy feature....HOW ABOUT SPLIT SCREEN APPS, especially on the Iphone Pro Max! i mean common...this is the one feature im dying for still. Why cant i run two tabs of a web browser on top (or side by size in horizontal mode)

Or even bring back Horizontal mode...that was amazing! Its built into IOS...the ipads have done it since day 1. The ipad doesnt care how you hold it, it works! You can hold it upside down with the camera on the bottom and it will still work. Plus you can now run multiple apps side by side thanks to iPadOS 26. In fact im debating trading in my 11 inch m4 ipad pro for a 12.9 inch M5 in a few months just for the extra space.

Hell even the ipad mini does this. God that be the perfect combo...a 12.9 inch M5 ipad pro and a OLED ipad mini...

BUT THE PHONES...NOPE...one app at a time baby! sure we can run things in the backround but god forbid i want to check my email and browse the web at the same time on my phone..

You give me that, you bring back Horizontal mode to the iphones, im a happy guy. Your going to have to do that...because if the iphone fold doesnt do that, and you basically have a foldable ipad mini in your pocket, its a huge waste!

ALSO can we get THEMES...IOS26 LIQUID GLASS is a ok theme. But cant we get system wide themes as well. even open up an app store for them? WHAT IF I WANT A RETRO MAC theme on my phone system wide...what if i program one and want to sell it...why cant i? same for the watch faces? 11 years of apple watch, and we still dont have a user generated watch face store...common APPLE...

Since I won't be enabling Siri or Goople Intelligence, this doesn't sound like an exciting update so far.

What might convince me to upgrade my 16 Pro from iOS 18 is a drastic scaling back of Liquid Glass or, ideally, a switch to turn it and UI animations off.

5G satellite connectivity would be nice. Everything else listed I can do without. Siri and AI will remain turned off on all of my devices. But I don’t begrudge others who want this from enjoying it.

There’s like a 99.9% chance this will be a differentiating factor and selling point for the iPhone fold. It will be an exclusive feature for the iPhone lineup

Please just let me archive iMessage conversations so they stay in the cloud but don’t sync to my devices unless I need to
Isn’t that what iMessage does today?
Most of my conversation history is not downloaded unless I scroll back.
Maybe I’m not understanding what you mean.

Interested in seeing how Apple Intelligence/Siri will improve. New satellite features will likely be restricted to US and maybe a few handful other countries. Not interested in another subscription service for Apple Health.

Absolutely not holding my breath for improvements to Siri with 26. Even with the new Gemini deal there’s just not enough time. I’m betting 27 at best before we can get Mom home from that airport.

Which also wasn’t great timing with this version jump. Mom has been stuck at the airport since iOS 16 and she may finally get home with iOS 27!
Apple Intelligence (and Siri) is already far more capable than most people have been led to believe. While there are some benefits to the new versions of the Apple Foundation Models based on the same base model that Gemini was, the real power lies in the ability to use the capabilities of the apps on your device via AppIntents.

iOS 27 is still many months away, but there are already plenty of rumors about new features that will be included in the software update.

The first beta of iOS 27 will be released during WWDC 2026 in June, and the update should be released to all users with a compatible iPhone in September.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman said that iOS 27 will be similar to Mac OS X Snow Leopard, in the sense that Apple is apparently focused on improving "quality and underlying performance." However, there will still be some new features, with many of them expected to fall under the Apple Intelligence umbrella.

Below, we have recapped eight rumored iOS 27 features in bold text:
Over the coming weeks and months, additional iOS 27 rumors will likely surface.

5G satellite connectivity is already possible. T-Mobile Satellite supports Apple Maps and several other apps, including Messages and Apple Music, over Satellite today.

There's zero value to "remember past conversations" -- but there are huge advantages to Personal Context, which appears to be coming in 26.4, based on what we've observed in 26.3.

It's also important to be clear -- Google Gemini won't be powering anything. The new Apple Foundation Models are being finetuned on top of the raw base model that Gemini's models are also finetuned on, but neither the Gemini Service, nor the actual Gemini models will be part of Apple Intelligence.

I get what you’re saying but day to day it’s just not there. I do use the Apple Intelligence text functions occasionally.

But we’re really talking about a Siri that just understands what I’m saying. That’s all I’ve ever wanted and they’ve never delivered. Maybe this year. Maybe next. But it’s been that way for ten years. Only difference now is we know for a fact the technology exists but Apple still doesn’t have it.
