Not sure that removing support for PPC Macs is a feature... 🤣They rewrote Finder in Cocoa, launched QuickTime X, created a whole new concurrency subsystem (Grand Central Dispatch), added the Mac App Store (later) and removed PowerPC Mac support.
I have 2 Apple TVs running 26 and neither looks anything like that. It looks like you changed the default settings. Do you keep it like that all the time, or did you change the settings just to make a point? If you keep it like that, why not use the default settings, which results in UI elements that are not hard to read?
Your memory is incorrect. It dropped PPC Macs swiftly and arrived with OpenGL issues on MacBooks withx950/X3100 integrated GPUs.
I was 13 years old when this happened

Snow Leopard Bug Responsible for Loss of User Data Gaining Notice

In his Power On newsletter today, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reiterated that iOS 27 will be similar to 2009's Mac OS X Snow Leopard, in the sense that one of Apple's biggest priorities is bug fixes for improved performance and stability.

During WWDC 2008's State of the Union, Apple showed a slide that said Mac OS X Snow Leopard had "0 new features," as it opted to focus on performance and stability improvements. Technically, the update did include some smaller new features, but Apple was overwhelmingly focused on bug fixes and under-the-hood changes on the Mac.
"We've built on the success of Leopard and created an even better experience for our users from installation to shutdown," said Apple's former software engineering chief Bertrand Serlet. "Apple engineers have made hundreds of improvements so with Snow Leopard your system is going to feel faster, more responsive and even more reliable than before."

iOS 27 will still get some new features too, including a more personalized version of Siri. The update should be announced in June and released in September.

Well, I don't want to be *that* conspiracy guy, but since I have downloaded the Tahoe on my 2021 macbook pro, it has significantly deteriorated in the terms of battery life, smoothness and the fans are on all the time.
Edit: Yes, it's iOS, but still, please, fix my mac 😩
That’s absolute nonsense. One bug doesn’t negate from an experience of the OS being very well received at the time.
I did an upgrade on my iMac and MBP and am pretty pissed off with the results so far. I dunno how many times I've had apps crash. I mean I can't even get iPhoto to not crash, I imported a few pictures, wanted to touch them up and the stupid progam has crashed about a dozen times. Purely ridiculous.
I also do some graphic design and don't even get me started with PS CS4. Christ I have to save my work after every freaking layer I add just in case something happens.
I wasn't expecting much in terms of features etc (not the reason why I bought SL, I bought SL purely for performance gains), but Apple could have at least released SL in a decent working order. I am a software developer and I find it hard to believe that this thing even got passed UAT, let alone being released to the public. To not even be able to run native "Apple Programs" like iPhoto is absolutely ridiculous, I can understand 3rd party apps may not be fully compatible but this clearly isn't the case.
I know I'll get a bunch of "why don't you perform a clean install?" and as much as I would like to do that I have so much configurations and applications etc on both my Macs that it just isn't worth the hassle. Apple better freakin come out with some patches soon, going from Tiger to Leopard was a way better experience than this crap.
Don't worry, they'll fix it before SL comes out of beta.
Steve has no one to blame but himself. SL was clearly not ready to ship, and they just rushed it out the door because they needed to beat Windows 7's hype machine.
When an Apple product fails to impress, it is always due to operator error.

I used it too. Lost my music library.I used it dude. It was awesome.
Yeah Snow Leopard was as full of bugs as previous releases, so much so that there was a rash of users going back a release temporarily. it also had some new features. It's the Snow Leopard with almost a years of incremental releases we remember.9% bugs instead of 10%.
