It's good that you're still clinging to the hope that somehow AT&T is to blame for this.
Ignoring the fact that Consumer Reports tested the phone in a radio test chamber where no towers are involved, and the iPhone 4 exhibited the antenna flaw on all 3 units they tested.
It's good that you are somehow able to know what happened in my car w/out being there with me.
I've had 2 instances where I'm not holding my phone, and it's in a case. I'm trying to dial a speakerphone call.. so it's not near my body in any way except to click on someone's name in my contact list. I can see a tower. I know it's an ATT tower. I have 5 bars of signal. I've been near this tower every single day for the past 3 years b/c it's near my kids daycare.
So no. It's not the infamous Consumer Reports antenna design/attenuation issue.
