iOS 4.2 Beta 2 for iPad is up

Crashes when adding MobileMe account.
Crashes when touching 'Sounds' in settings.
iStudiez Pro does not work.

Can we at least be able to download this wallpaper until we can officially get iOS4.2 ? :)

Anyone have a link at all to that wallpaper ? I really like it !!
 
But is it really an Apple wallpaper? Because it seems more like a wallpaper you find on InterfaceLift.

Maybe it's just a wallpaper that this user installed on his own.

Are you sure? Mine is working just fine.

This topic might have been beaten to death, but any chance we will see the "mute" button switched back to it original function? It's a serious waste of hardware otherwise.

I highly doubt it. It seems they are trying to make the iPad behave like the iPhone is this regard. Honestly I hated it at first but I have come to like it as accessing the new orientation lock isn't hard and I like being able to turn notifications off so that if I am watching a movie that I fall asleep to I don't have to worry about an email notification waking me up.

Mobile me account creation seems ok for me here working from a restore.

Did you restore or update ?


Actually anyone posting problems or anything erroneous happenings in 4.2 could you post whether you updated or restored as it will help isolate or find both discrepancies and commonalities.


Such as.


4.2 Beta 2 : Restore on 64GB 3G

.RSS applications such as Early Edition are still crashing for me.
.AirVideo & VLC still exhibiting same problems as Beta 1

Great to hear WSJ app. working again. I had rolled back because of this. And snappier too! Installing now.
 
I'm not having any luck with Netflix on beta 2. When I try to watch a streaming show, I get the 'preparing' message with the spinning wheel, but shortly afterward the app shuts down. I don't recall testing Netflix on beta 1 so not sure if it was there previously or if something particular to my set up.

Anybody else having similar issues?

No. I watched Netflix last night after installing beta 2 and I didn't have that issue. Have you tried deleting and then reinstalling Netflix?

I had this same issue with Netflix on 3.2.2 two days ago. Personally, I hear lots of people rave about Netflix but I find their streaming selection not very good and I think the app is very poor on the iPad, very slow and not very responsive to taps.
 
AirPrint not working?

I cant seem to get air print to work on my pc.
Have itunes 10.1 beta installed and airprint it checked off in preferences.
I have a shared out printer. When on an iPad with 4.2 beta 2 i click print, select printer and it scans for one and says no printers found.
 
Installing Beta 2...

Just FYI, I'm not a Developer. I bought my way in, gave some guy $10 bucks to add my UDID.

Using iTunes 10.1b5 and started fresh, no restore from back-up.

Update 1:

iOS 4.2 Beta 2 Clean Restore went fine. Now installing everything else.
 
I know it's not possible to discuss every app, but are apps in general working OK on 4.2? I have the option to install the beta but don't want to if it means the bulk of apps or other iPad functions aren't working at least reasonably well. TIA

Try out this new app, in the reviews not everyone is having luck with it, but your able to browse Netflix content fast and somewhat intuitively and when you want to play it. It auto opens up the netflix app strait to playing. its called CineTap for Netflix

however it is $.99

I haven't bought it yet, I'm waiting for an update that straitens out issues some users are having.
