I really wish I knew how much battery usage I'm getting out of beta 2. I'm not sure if it is draining faster or if I am just using it more. Man I'm bipolar on this issue. Don't get me wrong, I've used it for a few hours today and took it off the charger at 5am. Right now its 1:27pm and it is at 73%. I think I'm doing pretty good, just don't know if I'm doing as good as 3.2.2 battery life.

Airprint work for me usings a brother networked printer. Very nice. My problem is with sound and games. i.e. a game like bejeweled blitz has no sound. Other games has no sound.

Yeah I've been messing around with printing all day at work. I installed iTunes 10.1 on Windows 7 64-Bit and shared my printer.

Problem is we have different subnets at work, so my computer is wired in and on one subnet, where the wireless is on a different subnet. So what I had to do was use a USB Wireless Adapter for my desktop, now they are on the same subnet, and printing is working awesome to an HP Laserjet M3035. I've even had the iPad print duplex.

I have no idea why I'm so excited about printing from the iPad. All my co-workers with iPads are looking at me like I'm crazy, LOL!

Japanese Keyboard missing "Emoji" icons in Beta 4.2, ver2

In Beta 4.2 ver 1, I could pull up the Japanese keyboard, and then type "emoji" (w/o quotes) and I could see the tiny Emoji icons on the top horizontal scrolling bar. Only bummer is that I had to type "emoji" everytime
I wanted to insert one.

Now, in 4.2, ver 2, it is missing.

Hope they put it back, I like Emoji emoticons!

I cannot get my ipod app to open it constantly crashes. Anyone else experiencing this?

Beta 1 - while running Pandora in background it will appear in the left most row of the multi-tasking bar next to the play pause buttons.

Beta 2 - same as above however it also appears again on the right with all other apps running:
1. Anyone else have this?
2. Why have 2 Pandora icons show?

1. Yes, it has always been like this.
2. Because the very left most bar (the one with the play pause buttons) shows you what those buttons are controlling depending what you are running (I've seen it show the iPod icon, Pandora icon, and Netflix icon).

Install Emoji Free from AppStore?

Battery definitely drains faster. I just unplugged @ 8p I'm at 58% with normal usage that prior to beta 2 would have me around 80%.

OK, if I try to open a PDF from an email attachment with iBooks, the iPad opens what seems to be TWO instances of iBooks and then crashes to home screen leaving one instance open in task bar, but no PDF. Only way to view it is within the email client and quick look. Anyone replicate this?

Had this in beta 1 and hated it - it would also disable my "Open in..." button. Fortunately I don't see it anymore in Beta 2. Never found a solution to this so can't help you there.

Cheers for the reply. I never tested it in beta 1 but nice to know it was there too.. Well, kinda!

Nope, works perfectly for me. Did you resync after you installed beta 2?

I have. Even tried taking out all songs and podcasts. Even with nothing it still is crashing on me. I even tried another install. Im really getting ticked off here I know its a beta for a reason but man oh man.

Most odd, just log in and send those crash reports to Apple. Hopefully the next Beta will work out better for you. :(

Interesting that you can get to the 3G account button but still no access to APN settings. There are some bugs fixed, but still lots of third party issues and the preferences app is very crash prone. I also wouldn't agree with those saying it's so much faster than beta 1. I don't see much difference in performance, I think the 3.2.2 performance is better.

I didn't have the APN settings, either (Beta 1 and 2). I just got to Italy and put in a Vodaphone SIM card, and the APN settings appeared, already set to omnitel.it.

FWIW

Beta 1 Battery Drain

I just downloaded Beta 2 to replace 1 but as far as the Battery drain goes I have had a problem in 1. What I find is after closing the Ipad I will often find the screen on slightly hours later and the battery almost drained. Happens all the time.

I am also looking forward to the fix for the WIFI. Too often I have to turn the Ipad completely off (reboot) for the WIFI to work. So far no noticeable force closures.

So far I love the Ipad and it has replaced my Netbook for traveling. I use a wireless bluetooth keyboard (Apple) to type documents in Pages and Atomic browser. Both work great!

There have been reports that text in webpages appear with much better anti-aliasing in landscape mode.

Actually, now that you mention it, it does look pretty incredible. I'm comparing it to the top bar where it says pad and the time. I can easily see the pixels in the top black bar but have a very hard time finding them on the letters in a web page.
