My only issue so far is that I lose Internet connectivity over WiFi after a period of use. I'll be accessing the web either through an app (like Twitter) or Safari and all of a sudden it will hang. If I turn off WiFi and turn it back on it usually resolves it (until the next time). Also, I reset Network settings which fixed it temporarily. Looks like the old WiFi connectivity problem might be back (at least for me, anyway).

Passcode turned off

fyi: after I installed the GM, my passcode was turned off after the iPad rebooted.

Also noticed, I got a low battery warning at 5% now in addition to the 10%. Can't remember if I got the 20% warning or not. Makes sense with the Ipad's larger battery.

Same issues here.

I've noticed connectivity issues as well.

I installed 4.2 GM last night and it worked fine, but this morning my wifi wasn't working (and it wasn't my network as my iPhone's wifi worked just fine). I rebooted the iPad and it was worked again but when opening the App Store, it worked initially (loaded the Categories page fine) but when I went to download an App, it said it couldn't connect to the iTunes Store. Tried it again 2 seconds later and it worked fine.

I might try a "clean" install tonight and see if that helps.

Anyone else having WiFi connectivity issues with 4.2 GM?

Just did a fresh install, still having the same issues. Something is definitely not right. Beta 2 had been rock solid for me apart from the itunes preview not playing.

Bugger.

Never had problems with WiFi, but now I have! Same issues like other users posted.:(

I have the same issue with wifi, but someone told me it might be because I'm do not have a dev. certificate. anyone else here have the problem, and is actually a developer?

Err.. I really can't see the connection. And also, the Golden Master can be installed by everyone.

you are probably right. I have no idea... it was just a thought. But would be nice if anyone have any useful input on this, except that there is a problem :)

I've found that turning off "Auto Ask to Join" in the wi-fi settings can help with the time delayed connection drop issue. This one has been with me for every OS version, but killing auto-ask helps.

I'm registered as an Apple Developer but not paid my $99 fee yet as I am not ready to start writing.
Is there a way / link which I can use to download the new iOS 4.2 GM for my iPad?

Thanks

Forum rules prohibit this, and not to be a jerk, but it's called "Google". Ever heard of it?

No wifi issues here. I did a clean install then restored from back up.

I had the wireless problems and think I fixed it by turning off MobileMe bookmark sync. Haven't had any issues yet.

ios 4.2 GM wifi issues

I'm also having the same problems with wifi. I have the 16GB wifi iPad. I don't have mobile me, as somebody posted that by turning off mobile me sync helped, but I do have exchange sync enabled, I will turn that off and see if it helps at all. Sometimes even resetting the iPad doesn't work, and when I open the app store that seems to cause the wifi to stop the fastest, sometimes nothing in the app store will be able to load.

Mail is crashing when I try to delete a message while in portrait orientation, it did this on a previous build, but was since fixed. I'm glad I can use iBooks again though.

just wanna say that I am yet another user who has network problem with my iPad on iOS 4.2 GM.

I did fresh installs, reset all settings and nothing has helped so far. I hope Apple does not release this version to the public..
