Contradicting a report from earlier this week that correctly predicted the release of Mac OS X 10.6.5 yesterday and also claimed that iOS 4.2 will be released tomorrow, iPhoneHellas reports [Google translation] that iOS 4.2 will not launch tomorrow and may debut next Tuesday, November 16th.

iPhoneHellas has offered correct information on iOS releases several times in the past, including accurately pinpointing the release of iPhone OS 2.2 ten days ahead of time and iOS 4.0.1 several hours before its launch.

iOS 4.2 will finally unify Apple's iOS devices on iOS 4, bringing such features as multitasking, home screen folders, and Game Center to the iPad for the first time while also delivering AirPrint, AirPlay, and a number of other enhancements to the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch.

I was so hoping for tomorrow but oh well I can wait a few more days if this is true.

My question though is why? The GM is made, *10.6.5 is out, unless iTunes 10.1 is the problem.

I'm glad I installed the Golden Master. My patience was drawing thin enough! :(

I have the GM on my iPad and love it. I can wait until the official release to update the iPhone since the only real addition is the hope for improved battery.

...

Well this stinks. >.<

There are 3 iOS devices - my guess is the newest ones update is not ready yet (Apple TV).

All man!!! I don't see how some of y'all did it. I have had my iPad for almost a month and am on the verge of killing it because it's not on iOS 4.2. I even bricked it for one day trying to upgrade it (but then again I may have bricked it for just being a 14 year old boy screwing with things) btw my apps have been upgrading to iOS4 (talking about iPad and iPhone apps so I was planning on it being tomorrow but i guess not! :(

Rather convenient

Perhaps, given the supposed issues with AirPrint, this delay is buying time for a fix or even 10.6.6, which apparently has a very small file size. Allowing Apple to have everything in place when 4.2 finally gets released.

It makes sense for Apple to wait a week for 4.2, the default setting for Macs to check for updates is once a week. That means at minimum a wait of 7 days will ensure that the vast majority has gotten the message about the update.

So basically iOS 4.2 and iTunes 10.1 will be released next Wednesday, the AppleTV update will follow 24-48 hours after that.

iOS 4.2, the new white iPhone 4.

Not really. If you never knew about MacRumors, you wouldn't are. Apple said iOS 4.2 will be released in November. We still have 19 days of November left. Its only November 11 (my birthday) The white iPhone 4 was suppose to ship in July, then delayed to the end of this year, then delayed to spring on 2011. If Apple releases iOS 4.2 on November 30, 2010, they would still be on time.
