Maybe because it is still a beta. I'm crossing my fingers, because battery life is one of the key features for me. Ok, Multitasking will drain the battery a bit faster .. But I hope just a bit. :(

Multitasking on the iPad shouldn't theoretically impact battery life at all as the app is frozen, stopping cpu cycles for that application. The only impact in battery life made by multitasking would be when using some sort of location service or one of the other services which allow true multitasking such as pandora or skype or any other such app.

I am debating on paying the 7$ but I don't know if it's worth it for a sneak-peek at something i'll be getting in a month's time:confused:. Especially if it does indeed break AirVideo because I use that app nightly for watching Hero's.

Update re. the cellular data problem: unlockit.co.nz has now worked for a Gibtelecom account (Gibraltar.) Many thanks to the site for making this possible.

Correct. Google is your friend for helping you download it.

That's what I did, I used 4.2 for a few hours, and then I went through the pain of rolling back to 3.2.1. Whilst it is very good for a beta and looks fantastic, there are a few things didnt work which were deal breakers -

- Sky Mobile TV crashes
- BBC iPlayer crashes when you try to play anything
- AirVideo crashes
- Facebook on safari intermittently doesn't work

Not major things, but as I use my iPad for travelling a lot (and watching videos when I'm not working), these were a bit of a problem.

Overall, I'm looking forward to the full version coming in Nov, but until then (for me) its just not worth losing so much functionality.

zumocast works fine with it in place of airvideo if you are so inclined.

First Impression?

More like forth impression.

Gave 4.2 a forth try and after a day, I'm restoring to 3.2.2

I'll wait for November.

Okay I paid my 7 bucks, downloaded the file they had on their website, I assume that's right but how do I stall?

Edit: Figured it out. 5 hours now and I love it. Multitasking is quick as hell.
