Bump on this -- is the GM seed marked to expire? If not, is there any reason to download and install this update if you have the GM seed installed?

Well I figured something will change in the build...I mean it has the same hardware as the 3G.... *sigh*
So if I plug it in now on my non normal synced computer, all i will lose is songs for now, until i plug back in at home?

From Apple's server's this is a good service. It's better to download the application and then load it locally. Less likely to get caught in the traffic jam sure to be coming.

Damn, looks like it is the same build as GM, so they haven't fixed the bug I reported with Nike+ deleting all my historical runs (or rather not importing them into the new sqlite file). I want my run data back damn it! :'(
I have the redsn0w jailbreak. Tried to download the 4.0 and upgrade directly and got an error--on my iPhone was a cartoon pic of Steve Jobs saying something in Russian! iPhone was stuck in recovery mode so I'm restoring now and hopefully it will upgrade fine...

Just download it, then Option-Click "Restore". Direct iTunes to Downloads, then the proper .ipsw file.
I don't think that there's any way to get an unofficial copy to auto-spot in iTunes...
Last I checked the 'Find My iPhone' feature failed to work correctly on iOS 4. With this update has anyone got it working? Last time I checked it failed over 3G or WiFi on my iPhone 3G.
It would be great to know before upgrading...

Not identical with GM Candidate?
Just did a MD5 check on the GM Cand seed and the release. They are not identical. Also checked filesize, same thing there, not identical.

option+click the "check for updates" button in iTunes and then navigate to wherever you have it saved
I do hope it's NOT the same build as the GM.
The GM AFAIK was a candidate, not a final GM.
Anyway, I have found it to be pretty buggy in Cal and Mail apps.
I keep getting mail from 1970 and inbox does not refresh properly.
Cal can be ridiculously slow too.
Any news on iBooks?? Anyone have a link to it?

I don't think so
I'm currently updating my iphone on a different computer to my normal one
I'll let you know how it turned out in about 26minutes when its finished dowloading
