ITunes network is blocked at my work. So if i download the ispw and Shift + click the upgrade and do it that way, does the iphone have to reconnect with apples servers to reactive or anything?

The backing up "XXXXX's iPhone" has been going on for 10 minutes and it's like 2% done. I backed it up 1 hr ago and it took 1 minute on my 3G. Is anyone else getting this long backup? Can we just click "stop" and it'll continue to install without this backup?

at first it said it was gonna take 20 mins im like thats good. then all of a sudden the time remaining to download jumped real fast. it now says 13 hrs. if ur getting iphone 4 on thurs id just wait. anyone else with an absurd download time? and no im not using 56k dial up to download.

That's because the GM and today's release have the same build number...4.0 (8A293).

From the days of my first iPhone I have had several problems when I download and install. Ever since that time I always download only first and then install. Anyone else ever have this issue?

If iTunes is blocked, don't even try updating or you will end up with a brick until you get home.

same issue with 8GB 3G phone almost full. Will just wait it out..

downloading now and I just got an e-mail from Apple telling me to come pick up my reserve at seven and that there is a separate line for reserves. YAY!

Thanks for the heads-up. I see I just got my email about a half hour ago, too. I've been following developments on Macrumors so much I didn't even notice I had new mail!

Very glad to hear they're having separate lines, that should ease up congestion the day-of. And I'm also very relieved to get an email confirming they have my reservation. In my initial confirmation last week, it didn't list my plan information as most people had (that part of the email was just blank), so I was concerned with all the mayhem that somehow my reservation hadn't gone through right.

Is it able to be jailbroken already!? Just selling my iPhone 3G too next week. Lad won't have a clue how to do it himself and currently jailbroken 3.1.2
