I think it'll be the GM seed.
NEVER! iOS5 is still buggy is hell.

What bugs are people still finding? The issues I'm having isn't with iOS Beta 5 itself but the apps i'm using and that's because they're written for iOS 4

i prefer them to release 10,000 betas to make it the best than releasing as less as possible and have bugs

Windows wi-fi sync is very unstable. When it works it is great but I get a lot of errors from it that require restarting iTunes.

If that's the case, then we will never get a new iPhone..![]()
Is this on an iPhone or iPad? I've had big problems like you mentioned but on my iPad only.
I can't even get wifi sync happening on windows lolWindows wi-fi sync is very unstable. When it works it is great but I get a lot of errors from it that require restarting iTunes.
highly doubt beta 6 will be GM we'll see a release date during the iPod Touch event and I think soon after we will see a GMI think it'll be the GM seed.
hey guys I'm new to this but i hope they release it today that'd be great how many betas are there usually before the GM ? or is it always completely different
I have found that Beta 4 works better than Beta 5 in many ways. None of the Betas have really impacted my battery life too much, but instead they have majorly impacted many apps (as others have said, mainly the apps that use the camera roll). On top of that, I have had a problem with syncing my iDevices with iTunes. When I plug them in, it makes me restore them from a backup every time instead of recognizing it as a device that has been plugged in many times before. Its getting really annoying and i am hoping there will be a fix for that. Also, the iPod app on my iPad seems to be very temperamental. Hoping Beta 6 will be a much better build. I guess we will see! By the way, judging by the pictures of the release date that was built into Beta 5, the line says "2011-08-18T22:40:37" Could the 22:40 be a time and refer to 10:40pm? This said, who know what time zone this is in...

it has been somewhere between 4 and 8 betas for iOS 2, 3, and 4... we are in the range for iOS 5 GM to come out any time now... i'm guessing 7 betas with the GM in mid September.
thanks, and its probably the time for california, thats usually what apple goes by and its about 11:50 there right now (AM)
There have been a handful of apps where the developer fixed some bugs for iOS 5 users, but they aren't actual fixes because developers still can't use the iOS 5 SDK to fix iOS 5 bugs until the GM is released. So any time a developer says they fixed iOS 5 bugs in their app, they used the iOS 4 SDK to do so. It may work better with iOS 5, but until the iOS 5 SDK is released when the GM comes out, the app doesn't "officially" support iOS 5.
I'm pretty sure there hasn't been more than 4 before they released a GM. Looks like this one needs longer in the beta period anyway.
