MorE importantly for us non developers, is this likely to be the final beta. Should be only a few weeks now to general release. Was beta 5 stable?

Nah, i had tons of issues, worst beta of the lot for my 2 devices, my mates 2 devices and my brothers 5 devices. depending on beta 6, i would not be surprised if there's a beta 7

Definitely won't be GM, still a few issues. I'd say 7-8 betas.

iOS2 had 8 beta
iOS4 has 4 beta
iOS 4.3 had 3 beta

you missed the full line, it was "2011-08-18T22:40:37z" with Z at the end, so i'm guessing that the time zone is UTC, which is 2 hours 45mins away

I don't follow. How does Z stand for UTC? Either way, If it is UTC time it will hit 11:40 in roughly a half hour... We shall see.

UTC is also the time standard used in aviation.[4] Weather forecasts, flight plans, air traffic control clearances, and maps all use UTC (also colloquially referred to as "Zulu Time", particularly in the United States military) to avoid confusion about time zones and daylight saving time.

I am going with 7 betas, then the GM. Beta 6 should be today, beta 7 in about 2 weeks, then GM another 2 weeks after that. That puts us at mid september, right about where all the predictions have been for the iPhone 5 and iOS 5. Then I am also thinking the iPad 2HD will be in mid october. It's too soon for the iPad 3 and apple will likely separate the announcements/releases of the iPhone 5 and the new iPad. Hope we all can wait that long!

Z stands for "zero meridian time".

Z is for Zulu, Zulu time is UTC. :)

Well I sure learned a lot today. That's for the info guys :)

Why does Wikipedia do numbers in a set of [ ] are these further reference points?

Sadly I dont think we will see anything although it's always fun to hope and keep checking.

Keep in mind that it may come out shortly after the specified time, not EXACTLY to the second
