i dont know if this has been mentioned yet but when someone sends you an mms picture and you press save. It doesnt save. Well atleast not for me.

This is an issue for me as well. Can't wait for beta 2, will be interesting to see how many issues they manage to address from beta to beta

I dont know if you, know this but if you press the home button and the sleep/wake button at the same time itll take a screen shot. But i havent tried mms if its a video.

SO many bugs, I really hope beta 2 is not far off. Just a touchup of a few of the real nasty bugs would be good.

I've found a couple of things ... but most noteably —

1) When I have the phone plugged into my car, my texting notifications never really get noticed because the car prevents the iPhone from sleeping/locking. Kind of an odd/rare design flaw, not a bug. ... I wish the notifications would stay at the top until I touch the screen or something.

2) For some reason, my phone vibrates when I receive new emails ... even though that's all disabled. This is mostly a problem when I first turn the phone on, and it also displays the number badge for some reason even though that's turned off. Seems to go away after a few minutes?

3) Wi-Fi signal was bad at first but now it's okay.

4) Battery life seems pretty bad.

5) Camera app is SLOW and clunky. Crashes often, even though I don't have any pictures stored. Thumbnail in the corner is usually wrong, and when flipping through pictures it shows old old pictures for a split second before loading the right ones. (Pictures from my photo library, not taken with an iPhone!!)

6) Music App is very slow sometimes, not sure why. Also, my playlists aren't arranged alphabetically ... just randomly. Kind of odd.

Other than that, seems pretty solid. I like using this Beta since it's such a huge departure from the old ways.

1. That's a feature

2. Been there for years

I'm pretty sure he wasn't stating that he thought that was a new feature... I'm hoping, for his sake, that he was letting the other guy know that he can save his pictures that come through in text messages that way since it wont let him save by selecting 'save image'. Although if he really thought that was a new feature then I stand corrected and all I have to say is 'wow'.

Did you set up totally as new? or restore from a backup? as that's probably the culprit

I've noticed that with the beta my battery is super bad too... I don't even make it through a work day without plugging it in. Is it really suggested that you set up as new as opposed to restoring from a backup in order to get better battery life?

as always, with beta's it's advised to set up as new, as until it's finalised for GM, there's some settings that could cause issues if carried over from an older OS. i used a restore from backup for 2 days, with terrible battery life, i was down to 50% by 11am after unplugging at 6.40, but restored and set up from new and since, by 11am i'm no lower than 90%. In the later betas and gold master, it's usually ok to restore from backup. As i said, some settings from a backup don't place nice for some reason in a beta.

Personal Hotspot Issues - iPhone4 to iPad2

I upgraded both my iPhone4 and iPad2 to iOS 5.
I then added tethering to my AT& account and have been using the Personal Hotspot option to tether my iPad to iPhone

I'm able to connect and browse Safari.
However there are spots on my commute where cell service is unavailable and once this occurs my iPad will not recover and connect to the Internet. the tethered connection is still available and my iPhone is able to connect to the Internet.

Has anyone used Personal Hotspot in iOS5?

Thanks! I'm on day 2 of the beta as well and that's right about how crappy my battery life is too. Should I just plug it back in to itunes and do a restore again and then set up as new?

It might be too late now, but my battery life was horrible with the beta for the first few days. But after that, it has stabilized and I'd argue that it's very close to the battery life I was getting before installing it (maybe a little shorter). And yes, I have all of the notifications and everything turned on.

In fact, for the first couple of days, my phone would be physically hot to the touch and I knew that there was something going on. But now it does not get hot and the battery seems normal again.

well I did the restore and 'set up as new' last night... still pretty crappy battery life (worse than 4.3.3). I'm not too worried about it though, I'm never really away from a charger long enough for it to matter. I think the notification center is cool enough for me to not care about the battery life. lol

you got the stocks and weather widget running? i've disabled them as weather runs the GPS each time you go in when it refreshes

It's neither a bug or an abnormality but rather is expected behavior. iPhoto behaves very similar.

Your Camera Roll is effectively your photo library; you can go there and see every photo on your device. Albums are merely for organization of those photos. You never actually copy or move the photo from the Camera Roll to the album; instead the album contains a link or reference to the photo in the Camera Roll. The actual bits and bytes of photos only ever reside in the Camera Roll.

When you go into an album & choose to edit the contents of that album (button on bottom left corner), notice the red button says "remove" as opposed to "delete". In the Camera Roll, that button is a "delete" button.
I am confused about this. Whenever I take a picture it goes into Camera Roll on my iPhone. When I hoot it up to may computer iPhoto starts up and I have the option to Import my Camera Roll. On completion it ask if I want to DELETE Them and in the past it would delete them from my Camera Roll because they were uploaded into an Event. Now with iOS 5 they stay in the Camera Roll. So in Camera Roll I just have the recent pictures I have taken not my entire library. If this is by design I do not like it. Are you saying from now own all pictures I take will stay in the Camera Roll?

I've been getting this quite often and the only way to get rid of it is to end the multitasking for the specific program. Any work around? If not how do i report this to apple where is the ios bug report?

This is actually a new feature - discouraging the use of Apple related rumor sites.

Been running beta 2 for a few days. A few problems:

1. When watching videos the pause, rewind, forward buttons ect don't show neither does the time line.

2. Battery life is REALLY poor even worse then beta 1 and this is a fresh install.

3. I charge my phone over night but it when i wake its only charged to 98%

4. When making phone calls it takes 2 attempts to connect the call
