1. Folders in the camera app.
2. Syncing over wifi.
3. Calculator, voice memos, etc on iPad. I still don't get why apple didn't make all of the apps that ship with the iPhone also on the iPad.

A non-instrusive notification system would be my main request, but you won't see GPS/turn by turn maps on iOS as standard like Google provide on Android. Why? Because Apple sell TomTom, Navigon, and Co-Pilot Sat Nav apps for very good money on the App Store. For example, TomTom UK & Ireland is the third biggest grossing paid Navigation app on the UK store, costing £49.99.

Apple get 30% of every app sold, so for every copy of TomTom that's sold (in the UK), Apple take £14.99 ... so you can say cheerio to a free turn-by-turn maps/GPS app in iOS5 in my opinion.

I'd like to see a change to how the multi-tasking bar is opened. I know there's the multi-touch gestures you can activate if you Jailbreak, but surely the iPhone could have two finger gestures implemented in place of four fingers (like on iPad) due to the screen size (I don't want a bigger screen on the iPhone personally).

A third "feature"? How about properly optimised code that doesn't make the iPhone 4 run sluggish? In all seriousness though, WiFi syncing would be nice. Again, I know it's available if you jailbreak but costs $10.

- Better notification
- A central place for documents. A type of finder without being a finder. I want to be able to transfer a movie onto my device and chose in which application I open this movie.
- More wireless options, like getting the documents on and off the device easier, making the device less dependant on a computer.

1. Notifications as per the attached image.

2. Better SMS App with Quick Reply /SMS usage counter

3. Live icons such as LiveClock /Weather icon

1. Better notifications.

2. A tiny LED light that blinks to tell you if you had a call, email, sms, etc without turning the phone on. How hard would that be?

I would settle with notifications close to what Blackberry uses. What they have now is the worst I have seen on any phone.

iOS 5 ... not iPhone 5.

Only 3?!

- Swype would be pretty cool as someone else mentioned.

- Better notifications, as *everyone* else has mentioned! The current system doesn't cut it, and is too intrusive. There should be options for what notifications can/can't interrupt. Failed many an Angry Bird level from notifications that I don't really care about.

- Four years is a -LONG- time to keep an identical-looking UI! An update, including landscape-able home/lock screens.

- Custom SMS/email tones. How hard can it be?

- The ability for the alarm clock to play music/a playlist (without it being a ringtone). There are apps, but the native alarm clock should support it.

- Customisable email/SMS/call/notification summary on the lock screen.

Prediction threads or what can we expect threads are not the same as a 'give me 3 features you want' thread. Leave the moderating to the mods, and if you don't have something to contribute, well, then...

My 3 features:
1. An android style lock which can replace the pin code in all instances.
2. Attach files to emails from the mail app
3. Better printing support

1. Notifications (duh)
2. File management system/tool (much needed if Apple wants this to become a tool for companies)
3. Overhaul to the default apps (live weather, calendar, updates to settings to allow bluetooth and wifi switches to be on homescreen)

I think all three of these are viable, none are earth shattering, but definitely things I want out of the next iOS.

1 - Better notifications, blah blah blah...

2 - Live icons

3 - Improvements to AirPlay/Apple TV App Store

1: Notification improvements.
2: Ability to erase the phone if it does not get access to a network for a period of time. (This prevents thieves from yanking the SIM card.)
3: Ability to "jailbreak" the device similar to how Sony does their Android devices -- type in a developer keycode, and the device hands you a root command prompt. Bonus points for a complete userland install similar to Mobile Substrate.

1. Improvements so that Safari never, ever, ever has to re-load a page when i've been switching to other pages or other apps. I have 10GB of free flash memory, use that as a cache if necessary when RAM runs short, but I absolutely hate the refreshing web pages.
2. A way to rate, tag, and group imported photos into folders. Really nice that I can backup and view my photos while I'm travelling, but really annoying that I can't do anything to them. Ideally an "Aperture Assistant" or similar app.
3. Ummm... the ability to disable the "cannot use iPod app while connected to this accessory", which is my only reason for having to jailbreak my iPod Touch, for use in the car.

iOS 5

1.) MobileMe turns to icloud and keeps 10.7 and 5.0 totally synced. Photos, music, video, contacts, safari read later, bookmarks, calendar and iDisk can all be acceded from any machine....iOS 5 will bring this integration via software to the user.

2.) New notification system.

3.) AirPlay for everything from iOS devices to Apple tv.

wow I think I am the only person who doesn't really care about the notification system.

I would like:

1- Wireless wi-fi sync
2- quick compose, quick reply SMS like bitesms
3- quick settings access like sbsettings

But to be honest I dont really care what Apple does or does not include, I stopped waiting for them to dictate what I can and cannot do with a device that I paid my money for a long time ago.... and have been happily jailbroken

1. For the multitasking dock to show horizontally if you have your iPhone held in landscape mode.
2. More than 12 apps in one folder
3. Pairing with iPad

Pick any 3 feature you'd like with iOS 5 and Steve will make sure they are implemented.

What do you request?

Mine...

1. Much improved notification system
2. Live Icons - That display information
3. Free turn-by-turn navigation with all bells and whistles of a GPS app with offline support, just download a map for any city or country and use it offline.

1. Notification system is fine the way it is right now

2. Live icons - you mean like weather?

3. Not really a request, more of an accommodation...

Mine are:

1. Improved battery performance (not saying it's bad right now, but I know they will manage to squeeze in a few more hours)

2. More RAM

3. 4 in screen
