I'd expect something (Beta 5 or GM) on Jan 14th. Anytime before that seems too early in the year and too far from this build's expiration date.

This 6.1 seems awfully weird for me in the sense that it only has one API feature for current devices. My gut feeling is like there's something new (hardware) coming January or February which will add features to 6.1.

However, if there isn't an announcement by Jan 18th, then this will be just one of those weird updates where there's very little.

That can be said for everything up to 5.1. If you remember, 5.1 was just like this with the only new features being an updated camera icon in the lockscreen and the ability to delete photos from Photo Stream.

That's right. Have you seen ANY new features for iOS 6.1 after 4 betas yet? New lockscreen controls doesn't count because it was already there prior to 6.1.

Redesigned lock screen music controls, LTE support for more carriers and a new Passbook look. That's about it.

perhaps you should read before you post...the person above you literally just answered this question.

Laziness got me. Watchu gon do babe?

and PS. I was hoping for Apple to add something more for the release. Is apple plateauing? or maybe we'll see something big in the next coming months with their OS.

This is my take on this

Scott may have screwed up many things on iOS (I'm seeing way too many glitches on older iPhones after iOS 6 installation), and apple is working to fix those before putting out new features.

Or they are just sitting on their cash doing nothing

Both are equally likely

I'm beginning to think that Apple might give a 5th Beta on late January and will release 6.1 on early March on the supposed iPad Spring Keynote.

Has anyone with the new beta installed notice if the intermittent stuttering while scrolling a web page on an iPad 4 has been fixed?

Running beta 4 on my iPhone 5 and don't see any real change of anything, quiet sad if you ask me.

CAn anyone confirm any changes on whether EXchange Push is working on Beta 4

I don't have 6.1 beta 4, (I'm using. 4S on 6.0.1), and I've been having push issues since the beginning. About a couple of weeks ago, lo and behold, it just started working. It works about 90% of the time for me now (using Google Apps/Gmail).

I am rather new to iPhone, so please forgive me for the newbie question. :)

Can anyone give a guestimate based on past history on when we might see the official 6.1 released? Is this something we might see real soon or is it more likely to be months from now??

If it's for bug fixes, it should have been called 6.0.3 instead.

x.1 updates normally bring about substantial features, following past trends. Go look at the changelog of 1.1, 2.1, 3.1, 4.1 and 5.1 for yourself and you'll understand what I mean.

No, you only do a X.X.X release if there are no API changes in the release (just bug fixes). 6.1 contains several API changes and therefore requires a beta period with developers.

You're probably right, but why did Apple have a beta period with 5.0.1?

TL;DR

What's the status of iTunes Match? Specifically, downloading/deleting individual tracks. I heard it was in beta 2. Is that still the case? I really hate downloading an entire album for a few songs.

Hey when i was moving photos to another photo album i noticed that there a bar saying how many pictures i was moving. I dont recall that being in iOS 6.0.1. Maybe it was. Can someone double check?

Does anyone know if this will finally allow emails to be read over a cars nav system, text messages work great.

You can indeed delete individual tracks again on the 6.1 betas :)

Just non-critical bugfixes, perhaps.

If they were holding it for a new feature, my bet would be on some kind of cloud service. Perhaps music related, given the number of tweaks around music playing and lock-screen controls recently.
