Google is not the only ones with Street View data. Other companies are doing the same and could potentially sell to third parties. In Australia WhereIs.com is doing it.

It would be difficult to compete with Google coverage though.

Been there since iOS1

this, lol. I don't know if it's been there that long, but it's on my old iPod touch 1G :p (though, when you actually view an image, *much* more useful prev/next arrows show up; iOS5+ replaces that with the uselessly replicated "play" button that was already in the album view mode. Comparing HDR images vs originals is practically impossible without using a computer, now).

question
3D buildings is it a 4s only thing?

can't seem to get it on my 4

Yep. iPhone 4S and iPad 2 and later only.

Also, I just noticed that in the Contacts app on iPhone, if you have a picture for a contact, iOS 6 now puts a white border around their picture thumbnail on their contact page.

I know that the open in feature has a new interface with icons but can anyone see if it works for larger files when there's not so much free space on the device? In iOS 5, transfering a 250+ MB file with the device having less than 5 GB of free space would take several minutes if it works at all.

Anyone tried this yet? The open in feature is important to me. I hope they have fixed the issues with the larger files.

Speaking text - automatic language and accent selection

Now speaking(tts) function automatically recognises and reads appropriate language. You can choose an accent for some languages!

Found a bug with FaceTime. I recieved a FaceTime call that I was alerted on both my iPad and iPhone (same call as using same apple ID). I answered the call on my iPhone but the iPad was still ringing and the device did not acknowledge that the call had been answered on another device. Happens over both wifi/3G. It's the first beta so hopefully will be sorted by final release.

Not sure if this is new:in reading mode if article you are reading is multipaged, iOs recognise this and automatically loads next page.

Why hasn't anyone mentioned this? Someone PLEASE tell me if contacts FINALLY have photos.

I don't understand. Contacts having photos? You mean, for a person in your contacts list, there is a photo of them? If so, that's been around since I got the iPhone 3G.

That's brilliant. I never understood why websites continue articles on separate pages. Always pisses me off.

You can now undock they keyboard and position it around the screen... in addition to the usual split keyboard configuration.

On what? iPhone? Because you've been able to do that on the iPad for a while.

i know the iPhone 4 doesn't get the 3d map, but the regular satellite view doesn't work on mine.. i can zoom out and it works fine but i start zooming in even just a little bit and my screen just looks like a granite counter top.

I think he means in the contacts list, where all your contact names are listed out. Kinda like the Cyntact tweak from Cydia (jailbreak feature).

Is it just me or is the clock icon on the iPad transparent?

I see it too, towards the bottom of the icon. I see what looks like the speckles from the wallpaper behind it.

When using Siri with a Bluetooth hands free set, there is a new indicator letting you know if the audio is going through the Bluetooth device. Taping on the new indicator lets you select the audio source (Bluetooth or iPhone). This is great if your car's built in mic is of less-than-stellar quality (like mine).

You were never able to do that.

....although not official - you were actually able to force it into a folder by making the icons wiggle and then creating a folder using 2 other apps and then dragging the newstand icon into the newly created folder before the animation of the newly created folder had ended (can't quite remember the exact sequence now but you can easily Google it).

...IOS 6 has now removed this!
