I don't have the iOS 6 beta, but it uses openstreetmap and I live in zambia, which is a very small country. Openstreetmap is pretty darn good for street level access, even more accurate than google maps. I have no idea about 3d.

3D is worldwide, but you only get 3d BUILDINGS (flyover) in selected cities. The rest of the world gets satelite nav pictures mapped to a 3D terrain ala Google Earth.

----------

If you are using multiple languages (keyboards) the dictionary now collates all the languages into one dictionary regardless of which keyboard you are using. Handy for bi-linguists like me who don't always want to jump to a different keyboard just to quickly reply to a message in my second language.

Also there's a separate Australian keyboard/dictionary now. Yay!

Could someone please check this for me?

When you place a call using Siri does it autoenable speaker output automatically now? It would really make sense.

Can you block unwanted numbers?

Has apple introduced a block list for ios6 where you can block blocked numbers from callin you? Or where you can accept only callers that are on your addres book?

Nope, still have to jailbreak and install iBlacklist.

The new "Do Not Disturb" feature has the option to only accept calls from certain people.

So basically. I can have as many people as i want in my list of "do not disturb" feature and only get calls from them people?

so i take it the rest will be directed to voicemail? or will i have a notification who else tried to call me?

The people in your favorites are the people that won't be blocked.

In another thread, someone said that San Jose airport was available on flyover and that the planes were in 3D. Would someone be able to post a few photos please? Maybe one of the terminal, and some of the planes/runway etc. thanks very much :)

They do indeed. Quality is pretty poor, though. I've gotta say that the Ovi maps 3D ( which you can access for free online plugin required ), which also uses C3 data, seemed a lot more impressive in the details and had far greater coverage than these maps.

Have just been playing with these maps and the quality is extremely poor. I really hope apples aren't that bad.

Technically it's called the 'quick launch' bar. Since iOS apps don't really run in the background.
iOS app services do run in the background. That's how you can listen to radio or track your GPS movements in a background app, when the app requests something to be done in background.

Apps that do nothing in background don't run in the background.

Would someone be able to provide a fully zoomed in flyover image (preferably from the iPad) of a residential area in Miami (please also give the road name) so I can then compare it to Nokias 3D maps. Thanks :)

Videos app now let's view other episodes in a season and you download them right there. :)

Not sure if anybody mentioned this, but I saw it somewhere. The artist on the Artist tab in the Music app looks like Bono.

When driving with turn-by-turn navigation on, you can lock the screen with the app running and it'll turn on the screen when approaching major points on the route.

You can finally choose which apps to update in the AppStore w/o having to leave it every time. Yay. It also shows the progress within the same window too :)

Well new Maps from apple really screw me over here (caribbean) :) now i cant search nothing , it only display major streets/avenues but other than that nothing; cant search stores , restaurants etc :( :(bummer

You've probably found these already, but...

1. The satellite view is now more of a globe that looks like Google earth.
2. Option to "Open in..." For photos in Messages
3. iCloud icons and download buttons are missing, must download whole playlists, artists or albums.
4. Full screen clocks for iPad. - attached here for a closer look
5. Option for Photo stream now renamed "My Photo Stream", in order to avoid confusion with shared ones.
6. Lock icon on lock screen is gone.
7. "New" tag on newly downloaded apps, like books and magazines.
8. Extensive bug reporting in Maps.
9. iTunes preview history - useful!

You can go to my shared photo stream at https://www.icloud.com/photostream/#v2;3;AC511BED-C186-457C-8984-D7C6886FB5B2;201496361 for many more screenshots.
