Ok, so as of this morning my hotspot is not working? My wifi play book browser is complaining it can't resolve host. Unfortunately I don't have my iPad here to test that. I can surf on the iPhone (3G). I also can't browse on my work blackberry connected to hotspot with the blackberry's cell antenna turned off?

Not sure if apple broke it or Rogers has to change something on thier end?

Forget the network your connected to and reconnect, thats what I had to do at first but now everything is working over wifi swimmingly (4s).

I hope it helps.

Two things:

After five years of iOS they added an option to show Umlauts on the German keyboard. Hell just froze.

Well, the ß is missing, but it's a start. :)

Search fields are now completely visible or completely hidden. You can't position it “partially visible” anymore.

Yeah I like this too but would be good if all people subscribed in the photostream could add photos.

That is really disappointing, I was hoping for Shared Photostreams to be just like BBM's groups, where anyone in the group could add photos to the group. I guess each person would have to create their own stream and share it with the others. Kinda redundant, when they could just add permissions and combine everything.

Mail "fly-away"

This may/may not be noticable, the "take-off" sound in Mail, the jet takes off quicker in IOS 6.

(Edit: lol.... I just realised what i said)... Dunno what it called, but that sounds ok by me.

Weather the sound comes first "false"' so the mail is not actually sent, you just hear the sound beforehand, is left to the imagination. Or weather, it IS indeed quicker.

I should have described it a little better... The Personal Hotspot was not working. But it seems to have fixed itself. It might have been a problem at my wireless providers end.

When you hold 's' you can get ß.

I was talking about extra keys. I thought that would be obvious from the context, but I will try to state my concerns clearer in the future. ;)

It's great to have the Umlauts, but I don't get, why they didn't give the ß an own buttons as well. There are other iPhone keyboards that have more than seven characters in the bottom line.

Don't know if mentioned, and don't know if it was possible in iOS5, but just saw it now.

In Reminders, if you swipe either left or right over a reminder, you get a 'delete' option.

Your sent mail sound may have changed from swoosh to swish.

APPLE FINALLY ADDED... a back and forward skip on the lock screen when playing music/podcast. It used to drive me nuts how you could only skip back 30 seconds but not forwards 30 seconds. Well, they changed the 30 seconds to 15 seconds but now you can skip forwards as well. So much better than having to press the 1x button and fast forwarding.

Random note, the pull down refresh is different now as well. It's kind of like a little drop of water that pulls till it pops. IE: go to inbox and pull box down to refresh and you'll see it.

It is indeed a false sound.
You used to get the sound only when the mail actually sent which was great because you at least had a clue when there was a problem.
Now you get the sound immediately even if the mail doesn't go through.
:(
You have to check the screen now for the silent message telling you there was a problem and it could come after your phone has already been put away.

the arms of The clock app icon are no longer pointy.
I like that change. But inside the clock app, the arms are still pointy!
what the heck? Apple consistency???

In Music.app, the chrome volume control handle uses the accelerometer to mimic the shine of aluminum. Check it out by rotating phone side-to-side and forward-back. It's pretty badass.

your observation is pretty badass too!!! Something that I would have never noticed. Thanks!
but iPad player won't work :(

ive noticed an improvement in battery life on my iPhone 4s since updating to iOS6 last night, battery at 85% by midday, usually its already down to about 60-65%.

Mines has got worse. Might do a restore again but meh it's not that bad. My battery is at ~30% at the moment. I last charged it up to 100% about 48 hours ago.

resetting

after updating to ios 6 on my 4S i did the reset all settings, but it never asked to "set up as new phone" i tried it three times but it never asked to set up as new phone? is this something different with ios 6?

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1446444/

After upgrading to iOS 6 on my 4S i'm seeing that after I read an email or delete it the mail app itself, it was SUPPOSED to remove it from notification center.

Now even after i've deleted messages without reading them from the mail app, they are STILL in notification center and I have to clear them.

If I open them, then they go away.

But I don't need to open all emails right?

Then, when I click the email from notification center that is no longer in the mail app, it just leads me to the start screen in Mail that shows my inboxes and accounts.

It doesn't do anything...NOR does it remove it even them...but it can't since its deleted. Why is this happening? Is anyone else having the same problem?
