If we get beta 4, it WILL be the last beta and the expiration date will confirm it, if it says September 30th still, then this is our LAST beta, and the GM will be the 12th and we will get the new iPhone, iPod touch with iOS 6.0 the 21st, if the GM is flawless and not another 4.2 catastrophe

Don't be so sure, there are still alot of bugs in beta 3 and they for sure won't release the iphone 5 in september.

What are all the major outlets saying?
What credentials and contacts do you have to say otherwise?

What bugs?

OK, Maps is a bit crap, but it's improving - and should continue to do even after release as a lot of the issues are really just due to poor rendering and inadequate data, both of which can be improved and updated on the server side. (note that Maps is based on tiles just like the traditional Google Maps, only now the tiles use a Vector rather than Raster format).

There's reports of battery life issues (haven't noticed any problems myself) but that's pretty standard for betas and should be fixable.

I think remaining issues are minor. Beta 3 is very stable and compatible, and there's no reason to think that we won't see a GM around Sept 12th.

Based on past experience I would expect to see at least 2 more betas before the GM.

I didn't say that beta 3 isn't good cuz is very stable and much faster than ios 5.1.1 but there are bugs like when you open passbook, the brighteness automaticly changes or... when I listen to a music and the iphone is locked and I change the volume from the volume buttons, the screen lights up,or the maps, those maps are terible,if I zoom to much, the map becomes black, there is no street view, there are no 3d maps for iphone 4 even if it works well, sometimes apps crash and music, itunes and app store native apps from ios 6 are kinda slow, when I lock my iphone, the lock sound is a bit late, that ''pull down to check for new emails'' animation is laggy and the new theme for camera app,the black one is terible, the old one was better, the gyro-enabled knob in music app is useless cuz it helps draining the battery.those are bugs that must be fixed untill beta 5 or 6 and sorry for my bad english.

So quiet after my last comment:D:D:D:D

The passbook brightness 'bug' isn't a bug. It's a feature designed to make the pass easier to read by a barcode scanner.

What's all of them?

"There are 455 cities with a poplation of more than 1,000,000 people, 1054 with more than 500,000 and 2851 with more than 150,000 people." http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Number_of_cities_in_the_world

So no, I'm pretty sure we won't get ALL the cities in 3D, at least not in the next 10 years.

Apparently they can do 1 sq km per hour.

Total land surface of Earth is 149.1 million sq km.

So that's 17021 years to do the total land surface of the Earth. ;)

I'll expect my home town in 3D by the year 12012 lol.

Edit: additional thought. If they arranged to have data collection on every commercial plane, they could achieve it within a couple of years.

You are only assuming that....it didn't do that in beta 1 or 2.....beta 4 will decide if it is a bug or not, not you!

It's defenetly a bug with passbok, cuz when I exit that app and shut it down from multitasking, the brighteness is still changed,but... today is monday so...around 8 PM gmt +2 the beta might be out.

What does that mean in the New York zone? I mean the time, I am worse in TimeZone switching o_O

Not a bug. Open passbook. You will see the brightness changed. Exit to the homescreen. Press the lock button and come back to the homescreen. You will see the brightness is back to what you have selected before.

It's still a bug, because it should change the brightness back to the previous setting as soon as you close Passbook.

Exactly. You shouldn't have to lock it for it to go back. I suspect will see this altered in beta 4.

I second that

New beta in 45 mins? (Assuming 10:00am is the time on Cupertino when they release things)

Really hope we see a new beta.

I hope the Facebook integration has improved to include the ability to use your default privacy settings (including the exclusion of people and lists manually) AND that it pulls non @facebook.com email addresses down.

If that doesn't make it into the final build it will be a joke and I won't be using the Facebook integration at all since I rely on the manual controls to selectively post to certain audiences, excluding others, and NO ONE uses @facebook.com for their email despite Facebook's pathetic efforts at replacing the primary emails on everyone's accounts.
