Dang that's a bummer.

Well if you need all of your stuff back you should be able to restore from you backup now that you know that there's not an issue in your data causing poor battery life.

You're welcome. I wish the advice I gave you would have helped. At leashed you've learned how to troubleshoot iOS. Restoring and setting up as new is the best troubleshooting technique I know of.

I would make an appointment and take in your phone to an apple store. If there isn't one around you, give AppleCare a fall. Either one can run behavior scan and see if there's an issue with your battery. Use your phone for at least two weeks before doing so. That way they will be able to after enough data from your software to see if there's a hardware issue.

Well it got worse I think LOL
i am going to plug it in and here are the stats

its at 22%
3 hours 15 mins usage
standby 12 hrs 43 mins.

damn

yeah there is one 20 mins from my city its not too far
I can def check it out
I had applecare on it but I think its over now
but I can still have a genus check it out

thanks again
maybe after a few more times of charing the battery it will fix it self like some people have seen.
Ill just screen shot each day to show them how bad its been, if its still at 3-4 hours and 12 standby for a day.

what is the average I should be seeing on a 4s?

why do so many people accuse others on here of lying? and why does so many people always have to reply with some smart assed comment? WHY? Does it make you feel better? is your personal life that boring? GET OVER YOURSELVES

What is that phrase "Get over yourself" even supposed to mean? I watched two ladies stand in the middle of a lane in a parking lot, talking. A guy drove up and honked at them to get out of the way. The lady starts screaming "OH GET OVER YOURSELF" at him.

Also, are you the thread-starter, on a different account? Looks a little that way, but I won't jump to conclusions in case I'm wrong.

I don't think it's that anybody's accusing him/you of "lying." He/you just haven't provided sufficient data to support any claim that 7.0.3 causes a battery drain, other than anecdotal evidence that "Normally if I leave my phone unplugged for an hour, it stays at 100%. TODAY, IT'S 83%. Coincidence? Or ENIGMA OF THE UNIVERSE???????????"

The only "fact" we have is the "fact" that the battery has indeed gone down 17% that one time. So many on here, jaded by similar accusations every other time a patch comes out, are being skeptical.

Sorry, we're not going to "Get over" that.

iOS 7.0.3 improved my battery life. However, iOS7 as a whole absolutely ruined my battery life. This factual comment is based on historic usage data. Most of us in general have the same usage patterns. We use our phones in a pretty identical manner for most of the week. Sure we'll occasionally take a long call or do some other high drain thing but these anomolies are noted at the time and that day's battery usage is disregarded when it comes to measuring stats. Once I installed iOS7 it became apparent within 24 hours that I was getting WAY less battery life. This experience was proven to be a fact a week later and not an 'anomaly' on one particular day. We can all tell when our phones need charging more frequently. Would we notice a 10 minute hit here and there? Of course not but I for one can tell when my battery is draining 35% quicker than usual.
Like I said earlier, iOS 7.0.3 has noticeably improved my battery life. It is still an hour or more down on what I regularly achieved with iOS6 but I'm thankful for the improvement. Am I still annoyed with my battery life? You betcha. I'm dreading the decline when my battery ages. I'm already experiencing battery life consistent with a two year old battery....and my iPhone 5 is four months old.

My battery life is greatly reduced. I go through 5% every 5 mins. In 2 hours, the battery is dead. All started after 7.0.3. Guess a trip to Apple is needed.

I find the battery percentage meter to be very non-linear. I can manage around 20 mins of high drain activity before it even drops to 99% and then it starts falling quite rapidly. Today I managed a whole hour of WiFi web surfing before it reached 90% but then a further half hour of web surfing saw the battery percentage plummet to 80%. From 80% to 70% took 25 mins and the whole battery was drained within 6.5 hours of doing the same WiFi web browsing.

If the battery lasted as long for each 10% segment as the fall from 100% to 90% then I would be achieving iOS 6 levels of drain. Sadly the non-linear drainage prevents this from happening and before anyone mentions 'calibration', I have fully drained my battery three cycles on the trot now and the phone always switches off at 1%.

My iPhone 5 with iOS 7.0.3 mirrors this pattern. With iOS 6 I was getting 8-8.5 usage. Now getting 6. I've had the battery tested by a genius at Apple he says it's fine and must be a software thing. I've restored from new twice. Calibration is fine, battery dies at 1%. I can use twitter and wifi browse and 100-90% lasts about one hour. Then it drops as the user above mentions. Has to be software related. My usage is no different to my usage in iOS 6. I have most of the new iOS 7 features disabled (background app refresh, reduce motion on, most location system services off) :/

My battery life is even better on 7.0.3. Did I do something special? nope just the USUAL checklist from an update:

1. Reset network settings
2. Reset settings
3. Restarted the phone
My batter life with 7.0.3 was slightly worse, but completing this checklist has seemed to fix what was draining it. Plus I restored the iPhone in iTunes.
i have absolutely everything turned off..
no LTE
LTE saves more battery than 3G....

And do you think Geniuses to have some magic formula to solve what appear to be a software bug ?

I've noticed my battery life seeming to take a hit after 7.0.3, upgraded OTA. Have done a Reset All Settings to no avail. Phone seems to be getting quite hot as well. iPhone 5s by the way

Here my usage after 7.0.3 OTA update, fully drain battery and charged up, mostly 4G 80% used and 20% LTE due my tmobile limited area coverage, wifi at home, just browsing, check emails and few apps, absolutely no music played, next power cycle, I'm going turn off LTE and find my iPhone see it help more.

Here's mine. A four month old iPhone 5 running iOS 7.0.3
This usage cycle has been WiFi surfing and a few texts. No video, no music, no camera, no games and no calls. Pretty poor! The 3 year old iPhone 4 that I gave my father gets 7 hours and it's on the original battery! My iPhone 5 used to give me 8-8.5 hours of usage on iOS 6.

What u guys call 4G is in fact 3G which seems to drain the 5s fast.

meh, best i've had since iOS 7.

Hey at least you lot make it down to 1%. My phone dies at any point under ~20% now. It might also stall at some point, and jump 12% at once.

One thing I always loved was how precise and linear the battery percentage was. I could count on it to make it to 1 or 2% before dying.

The things I took for granted prior to iOS 7...

No, but putting in a repair ticket documents the concern. Plus, I can get them to run a diagnostic and talk to them on some other things as well. I've always gone to them an had great luck resolving concerns.

this was my first time getting it down to 1% in about 3 months. it always died around 10-20%. I left the gym with it at 18%, got home which is a 5min drive and it showed 4%.

it stuck on 1% for another 30mins of usage, it's really weird right now.

I hear you, it's about the same for me. Some days are worse than others, and it was just as bad for me on 7.0.2 as it is on 7.0.3.

Mine seems to have got better since iOS7.0.3 and whilst i dont always get anything this good i'm normally comfortably getting through a day unless i stream TV\Radio, play games a lot during the day.

This was on the back of charging it on Friday evening from about 30% but i forgot to take the phone out with me so when i got home about midnight it was at 100% and i checked it then left it on the side. Saturday morning about 9am it was still at 100% so i thought i would see how long it would last just out of interest. I was in most of Saturday so it was on Wifi most of the time and it was used mainly for texting, couple of calls, some browsing, facebook, twitter etc throughout the time.

After updating to 7.0.3 battery started draining a lot quicker than with 7.0.2, however after turning off iCloud Keychain it is much improved again. Worked for me, might work for others having problems.

Today my iPhone 5 died at 8% while sending iMessages ...

Being in a town with good network coverage, it reached 5 hrs usage time, and I used it a lot !

Another hint that drives me toward a network related issue for battery drain in iOS 7: today with a VERY HEAVY use of my iPhone (several calls, tons of iMessages and whatsapp, over 1 hour of GPS navigation and Runtastic GPS tracking, email and web browsing) under a strong 3G signal I reach 6 hrs and 15 minutes of usage time, and the phone switched itself off at 1% as it should do.
