The "dark keyboard option" always sounded very un-apple to me - most probably a test tool for the beta only, never intended for public consumption.

The keyboard style is a UI design choice, and those choices are generally made by Apple, not the end user.

Wrong. Dark keyboard was already in previous versions of iOS when using private browsing. It's also included in 7.0 in certain security verifications.

Here ya go. I noticed for all day events it doesnt show anything but still shows the calendar section. Its just empty.
Yeah, basically says "No Events" without extra time lines or anything like that that take up more space.

----------

Wow, that's really a welcome change! They really DO seem to listen to us these days.
Can you make another Screenshot of how it displays an all day event on Today?
I reeeeaaaaaally hope they implement the all day events properly, especially for tomorrow.

This "you have two events tomorrow" is just plain useless. How much better would it be if they would make use of the silly "missed" tab for stuff like that?:cool:
Nothing new for all day events unfortunately.

Any chance you could post a screenshot of what the LS shows with no events?

Itching for this update. :D

Only the smallest part of users usually complain about a release. First of all it's a beta. Second, most of us have no complains so that does not mean it couldn't get released just because you are 1 person complaining.

Stop with this "first of all it's a beta" BS. Let me guess, you said the same thing when Maps was in it's "beta" stage. Hell, you probably said the same thing when iOS 7 was originally in its beta stage and look how that release turned out.

I am ONE person out of MANY on this forum that are complaining. If you use the search button you'll see the same thing. Get over yourself.

Unfortunately I don't have any non-event days until perhaps the weekend, so wouldn't be easy to get that. But it does look like it does in 7.0.x just without the few horizontal lines above and below it--just he "No Events" message.

I did come across another post that mentioned the way the daily calendar events appear in the today section of notification center is actually tied to the new list option in the calendar app--if you turn that option on to see list of events in the calendar app then it will show up like that in the notification center too, if you dinky use that option and still use the day timeline/hourly view that is standard then it will show up that way (the old way) in the notification center too.

Here is a screenshot of the today view without any events:

According to what C DM mentioned, it will still show up like that if you don't have the new list view activated in Calendar. Could you by chance activate list view and then see if the Calendar on the lockscreen changes?

The screenshot was from an iPad and there is no list view. I will check on my iPhone..

Update: this is from my iPhone:

I'm a little peeved

Have a developer account

Did a full backup before upgrade

Lost all my apps not an easy startup

Treated it like a new phone

In process to replacing all apps

Somewhat a pain in the a@@ but oh well

How did you update? I had no issues updating both my devices and didn't lose anything.

Anyone else noticing that the darken colors accessibility option is darkening more of the fonts/colors in more places? Used to be that just the "button" labels would be darker, but now it seems even the font used in Measages or Phone app is darker in general.

I have found this bug on IOS 7.1 beta 2. It happens when an app or a webpage is loading and you go to the homescreen and pull down the notification center. Look at the loading wheel, circle, etc.

You misunderstand - I know the dark keyboard has been present in all public releases of 7, but the dark keyboard option in settings hasn't, that was only briefly part of the beta and has now been removed.

In IOS generally you get the keyboard you're given, be that light or dark depending on the situation (and usually there's some logic to it, such as an indication of private browsing for example). It's part of Apple's design and my point was, it would strange and un-Apple-like for them to leave in a means for you to override that design choice, unless there was a clear reason (such as accessibility needs).

Since the option appeared in accessibility settings, it sounds like there was a need or at least a reason why it made it there.

You might be right, and maybe it will come back under that banner again at some point. I just get the impression that a lot of people saw it as just a personalisation option, a way to get the keyboard they thought was cooler or whatever, and I don't think apple would ever leave it in for that reason. If there's a good accessibility case for it then who knows.

If it was purely there for beta testers (including designers etc within apple) to play with then accessibility is a logical enough place to put it either way.

IPhone 5.

The new Calender option is a bit flaky. In month view, If you have ithe option off and tap the button to turn it on whilst scrolling through the months, the list view will appear but button isn't highlighted.

Also I don't like the design decision to include the name of the month in the top left back button when in the list view. I get they want to display the name of the month, but it's in the wrong place semantically. They should just scroll the calendar down a bit so you can see the month's name that's already on the calendar!

In general I think Calendar is messy with 3 text buttons and 3 icons buttons.

Yes I know it's just a beta. Just having a discussion.

I'm noticing that too. I get a lot more music playback from my battery life. And I was already getting pretty solid battery life to begin with ;-).
